Re: Good Scotch at Costco?

My go to Scotch is Aberlour A'Bunadh. It doesn't have the strong peat of an Islay, but it's very rich and being a cask strength whisky, it's very strong. If you drink it neat like I do, it should be sipped very slowly. https://products1.imgix.drizly.com/ci-aberlour-abunadh-76ace76bb44c673d.jpeg?auto...

Re: New Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype - Studio Photos and Review

After wearing the Hemlig on and off for the past week I have to say this is the best offering from Karlskrona to date. Blasted finish is executed very nicely, the ceramic bezel insert is crisply etched, the bezel click action is firm with precise clicks, the crown screws down smoothly and the lume ...

Re: Omega Parts Help

Otto Frei hasn't been able to get parts from Omega for a few years, so they're pretty much sold down to the seeds and stems.

The issues mentioned in this thread underscore the wisdom of getting out of the constant buy/sell cycle. Is that blasphemy?

Re: Buyer or Seller?

I appreciate all of the thoughtful replies. I've been on both sides of this situation. My experience (twice) with the USPS is that once they say the package was delivered, they will absolutely refuse to pay insurance if it doesn't reach the buyers hands. On a third lost package occasion, they claim...

Re: Buyer or Seller?

Anything I sell that has value in hundreds of dollars or more, the default method is signature confirmation. Some buyers find that inconvenient and I will send without it as long as it's understood that I'll take no responsibility for anything that goes missing, but tracks as delivered. In the scena...

By the looks of it, the L2L is pretty long. I could probably pull it off better than most folks, but prefer not to.

I find that there are more individuals I like on the Internet than in "real life." Besides, in cyberspace, it's easier to choose who you associate with. As an HOA board member, I sometimes think I'm living in Florida.

Precista PRS-14 back on the wrist

For the last four months, my PRS-14 was with Jack at IWW for service and the mediocre lume was also redone. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48756332137_22546abc66_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48756333017_aae4f27d57_b.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48756381672_43d2a53aab_b.j...

Me too! I've always liked the Bathy 100 GMT model... really want to grab one this year.
You may want to keep an eye out for one pre-owned. ADs seem to take a pretty good hit on resale.

Cheap ebay tropic rubber strap

Got this on ebay for $20. Don't know how it compares to the more expensive ones like Isorane Tropic or Meraud, but while it's a tad on the stiff side, it feels more comfy than Uncle Seiko and looks better than Watch Geiko. Length is pretty good at 78 x 128mm and comes in 20mm and 22mm. The watch I b...

Re: Orient Star Power Reserve 200M Diver

I own an Orient Triton, which is similar to this Orient Star in many ways. It's only slightly smaller, with a 43.4 mm width, 13.6 mm height, 22mm lugs, and 51mm L2L. If has the same movement as the Saturation Diver, but a much more manageable size and a lot less expensive ($400 from Long Island Watc...

That guy had a big forum presence on WUS when he was initially trying to sell his watches, but when quality issues arose, he ghosted his customers like the douchebag he is. Even if he made a watch that appealed to me, I wouldn't spend a penny with him.
