Re: Potential PITA Buyers

I’ve really slowed down my buying because I really hate selling. I’m trying to be much more particular about what I pick up as opposed to “trying” this or that. While there are still lots of watches I’d love to take for a spin, unless it’s sub $1k or I’ve actually handled it and know it will work f...

Re: New winder

The LEDs are why I didn't go with the less expensive M4. The A4 has an adjustment knob for the LEDs (low, medium, high, off). I emailed Jay at Juvo and expressed my concerns about the lights and asked if they had any plans for a stealth M4. He offered a discount on the A4. https://media1.giphy.com/m...

Is it possible to have those lights sync to some dance music? I’m picturing you doing a shuffle dance in front of the winder.

New winder

I've seen a lot of folks bash the Brookstone Quad winder in favor of a much more expensive Wolf winder. I have no doubt that the Wolf is better quality, but I've owned my Brookstone since 2011 and considering the price and programming options, not to mention the length of service, I think it was a g...

The ad states that it's a replica. I think the guy deals in them. After all, it's cheap and it's Craigslist.

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

BTW, my only disappointment with the PH200M was while others were crowing about accuracy of +.5 spd, mine was running 8 to 9 spd slow. However, I've noticed some improvement over time and more than two months later, it seems to have settled into dead even. Maybe this Powermatic 80 movement is a tech...

All good stuff, but I’m anxiously waiting for a “show us your belly button” thread. I’ve been practicing my selfies.
I think I'd give that up for lint.

It's a great looking watch, but $2300 from a grey market dealer? Nope.

Re: New Coffee Set-up

Damn Chuck. How often are you roasting it? About 2 lbs. a week. No weak ass coffee for me. I brew it strong enough to wake up the neighbors. I am not ready to go down that rabbit hole, but how long did it take you to learn the ropes of roasting your own beans? There was a little learning curve, but...

Re: New Coffee Set-up

I've used a french press for a long time, but I like the coffee from the Krups Moka Brew even more. The one I have is one of the original German made units, which are no longer available. The newer ones are made in China. I'm a home roaster, so I like good coffee. http://coffeegeek.com/images/6578/2...

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

Can someone take a couple of pictures of the Certina comparing it with a NAFT? (for us puny wristed individuals) It's been a while since I had an NAFT, but I think this pic clearly shows the 52mm L2L to be an exaggeration. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4895/45305780844_6965d54d1c_b.jpg

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

I wanted to know if polishing the hesalite crystal w/ the protective coating would damage it, so I emailed Certina. At first I got vague answers that didn't really tell me what I wanted to know. I don't think they knew themselves. Finally had this correspondence. Thank you for your answer, Mr. Badia...
