Re: New Coffee Set-up

Damn Chuck. How often are you roasting it? About 2 lbs. a week. No weak ass coffee for me. I brew it strong enough to wake up the neighbors. I am not ready to go down that rabbit hole, but how long did it take you to learn the ropes of roasting your own beans? There was a little learning curve, but...

Re: New Coffee Set-up

I've used a french press for a long time, but I like the coffee from the Krups Moka Brew even more. The one I have is one of the original German made units, which are no longer available. The newer ones are made in China. I'm a home roaster, so I like good coffee. http://coffeegeek.com/images/6578/2...

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

Can someone take a couple of pictures of the Certina comparing it with a NAFT? (for us puny wristed individuals) It's been a while since I had an NAFT, but I think this pic clearly shows the 52mm L2L to be an exaggeration. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4895/45305780844_6965d54d1c_b.jpg

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

I wanted to know if polishing the hesalite crystal w/ the protective coating would damage it, so I emailed Certina. At first I got vague answers that didn't really tell me what I wanted to know. I don't think they knew themselves. Finally had this correspondence. Thank you for your answer, Mr. Badia...

If I were a professional looking for a dress watch instead of a grimy retiree, I'd want a Reverso Duo.

New fence for the PO

Finally found a 20mm mesh for my Planet Ocean. It's actually something I can wear on a number of my watches, but I think it looks particularly good on the PO. I was surprised that even with the clasp extender, it was too snug on my wrist. Fortunately, The Atlanta Boutique was able to get me another ...

This UK dealer says they have it in stock. Price w/ shipping to the US should be about $740.

Actually, more like $620 w/o VAT.

Great on mesh.
Now I’m sorry I ordered from Jura. I thought they were a valid company.
Never meant to imply they weren't valid, just thought some caution might be called for. It's probably like so many pre-sales that take longer than they say.

For anyone who is considering, but hasn't yet ordered from Jura, you may want to first read this WUS post about the Certina re-issue. Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

Mine was delivered a short time ago. I immediately put it on a tropic rubber strap. Although the 60 click bezel isn't very smooth, I can see no play in it. The second hand sweep is smoother than expected, especially considering the Powermatic 80 isn't a high beat movement. Everything I've read abou...

BTW, despite reports of a 52mm L2L, it appears to be a little smaller.
