That’s a rare sighting on the road.
There's a guy who attends the Mass Cruisers cruise nights at Bass Pro Shops in Foxboro, MA who owns a GT40 and a '05 Ford GT. The best part is he and his son drive the cars to the meets!

I think that’s great, although I’m already over ceramic bezels - too shiny for me

I wish him well
I like the old-school aluminum bezel inserts. I actually like the way they weather and age.

Re: Shoulderless spring bar issue, putting in not pulling out!

Hi. The holes in the lugs (and/or bracelet end links) might not be perfectly aligned. With a strap, it's not a problem. You could try spring bars with a thinner center section. That will allow some wiggle room to get the holes to line up.

Can you get one with a manual transmission? Otherwise, she's not interested.

Hand-wound Snoopy and the Red Baron Timex. I have no idea what happened to it, but it was my gateway to Casio digitals and ultimately “real” watches.

Are there still lots of bars on Chippewa St? I haven't been to Buffalo since '97 (business trip). Did you go to Mints (Canadian side)? Lots of talent there then; has gone downhill accoridng to Yelp.

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE

Let’s not forget this is not a 6r but rather a 4r watch. Maybe the perception is that this is a 6r watch with the exception of sapphire, screw down. etc? Good point. For those interested in this one, just from personal experience - I’ve had much better (big difference) timekeeping reliability in th...

Paul I think the buyer is over thinking it. I do not believe this is an issue at all.
I think something's amiss. If you pull the crown out to the time setting position, the movement should hack, and remain hacked until you push the crown back in.

Re: Budget audiophile gear recommendations

The Audioengines are great, aren't they? My brother-in-law works in the industry, so we often end up with his hand-me-downs. We currently have a pair of KEF X300A on our desktop. They sound great. The only downside is they go into a low-power mode when they don't detect a signal, emitting a loud pop...

Re: New Seiko Field watch LE

I think they look good. I wonder if 40mm is a bit too large for me given the relatively larger dial and thinner bezel that accompanies most field and dress watches. I'm also not sure if it has a sapphire or hardlex crystal or a screw down crown (honestly, the only thing I don't like about the Hamil...

My mother’s been texting me pics of interesting cars lately. I'm beginning to think she's more of a "car guy" than I am. She was recently in the market for a new car, and one of her requirements was it had to have a manual transmission. 1974 Mercedes Benz ???SL https://i.imgur.com/1FktLlq.jpg ...

Re: Air King = Milgauss Case?

I just learned of this recently from viewing Terry's FS post. In one of his pics, you can see the inner magnetic shield. It's almost like an additional case-back behind the regular case-back. The dial is probably made of a special ferrous material to act as a shield on the other side.
