That looks really nice, Brice. I have one sitting in my watch box and your photo encourages me to take it out for a spin.

Re: Lug Screws

You ever find those screws? I just measured the pair I have floating around my watch box. They're 28.41mm long and 1.58mm thick.

Every time this thread gets bumped, I get the urge to buy another Toxic.

Just ordered an admiralty grey Shiz to go with the navy I have for this.

Re: Heavy Rains In Kauai

Wow... It must've been one hell of a painting! I own the same truck, except mine is silver. Please tell you son-in-law I really like his Thule rack board set up. I have factory roof racks with board pads for the long boards / SUPs and a tailgate surfboard pad/holder for the short boards. I just boug...

Re: Heavy Rains In Kauai

I took my family there last month. We didn't get to the north side of the island on this trip, but I remember the area being beautiful from past visits. I hope they are able to rebuild and recover quickly. I'm a member of a Toyota Tacoma forum and the HI members (it seems Tacomas are just about the ...

Re: What Microbrand are you wearing today ?

^^^ The bezel will loosen up with some turns. I don't know what the situation is, but the loaner Ginault sent me was the same way. I even went so far as to put a drop of silicone lube under it (the click spring is located around the 6 o'clock side) to see if that would help. I casually spun the beze...

Re: When all else fails, raise the price

I should ask him if this watch comes in the plastic tube like modern Doxa's and my recent Helson.... Hey, the Doxa's come in the "world famous scuba bottle presentation tube", which is some sort of metal. I know - just teasing. Heck, the plastic Helson / Fullswing / CREPAS TACTICO plastic tube is a...

Re: “Vintage” Canvas strap question

Looks like it was made from one of those WW2 vintage surplus canvas tents my Boy Scout troop had back when I was a kid. Those things smelled awful.

I would hand wash it with a gentle soap as suggested above.

CREPAS sent me a pair of lug screw bars accidentally a few years ago. I have no idea what model they go to. I'll be back in the office on Tuesday and ill measure them. If they fit, I'll mail them to you.

That looks really nice. I bought the no date big triangle version. The dome looks really cool.

What are your thoughts on the overall fit and finish? How about the bezel action - any backlash?

Re: Helson Sharkmaster 300 aka Omega sm300 homage

Why beat the shit out of a cool old watch? While I'm certain a 60 year old watch could handle anything I could throw at it, but the watch itself is irreplaceable. I've never owned a Helson, so I can't defend their quality from first hand experience. That said, there have been many possitive reviews ...

Re: Helson Sharkmaster 300 aka Omega sm300 homage

I had my Estoril on earlier before lunch break. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180331/29bfea66c8615c78371ac3d9fd3423ee.jpg Huge price difference. The DW group LE was $430. Re: Helson Sharkmaster 300 aka Omega sm300 homage

Yes, the real McCoy is better, but I'm pretty certain I'd not be taking a real McCoy out surfing, or deep sea fishing, or on a white water rafting trip. There is a reason homages exist. 90% of the vintage style with 0% of the concern.

Re: Polished to Brushed

SPB051/053 appears to have the same bezel insert so if it's Ceramic then that makes those 2 even a better deal. I assumed they were both lacquered/laser etched steel similar to the MM300. See 2AR2C1's post above. LAWW was apparently able to remove the SLA017 bezel insert. I was surprised as I thoug...

Re: Polished to Brushed

You had your SLA017 brushed? Did you get any feedback regarding having difficulties due to the Diashield coating? Just curious if it flaked off like a chrome plating would or if he was able to just brush right over it. yes, the 017: no troubles with the new brushed finish. He also removed the ceram...

They should've used an orange and black color scheme, as we all know orange and black is the most legible under water.
