Re: Briefcase

I really like that one. I really like bags designed by frequent travelers for frequent travelers. I also have to think about the fact I travel in various class seats depending upon the route, etc. The bag needs to work in a 90 seater as well as a 200+ seat rig. On edit: the only thing that concerns ...

Re: Briefcase

I’m a frequent traveler and a bit of a bag whore. I’ve used a Timbuk2 commuter for years. It works well, doesn’t look too bike messenger-ish. Recently a friend sent me a Barbour Thornproof Tarras waxed canvas bag to try out. It is a much simpler design than the ballistic nylon Timbuk2, but it works ...

Re: 62MAS 3 FACET HANDS on a SBDC063

Would you be willing to mix and match the hands, assuming the lime matches? For example, I like the MM300 hour hand, but I agree the minute hand is too short. The GS minute hand is also a bit short, but it is bold enough with the arrow tip so that combo might work. The MM300 hour hand mixed with the...

Re: Does anyone know who made this?

There are a couple homage makers out there I found through image searching. The closest I’ve found is “DSN” (DavidSen). The difference in the photos I’ve seen is DSN homages have engraved case backs and yours seems plain. I would test the watch for water resistance prior to taking it into the water....

Re: My latest Klunker...

That looks like a fun beach cruiser. I’ve been thinking about mounting a surf board rack to my old cyclocross bike to give me more incentive to ride. Plus, I feel a bit wasteful driving my truck less than 2 miles just to go to the beach from my house. Not only is it kinda wasteful of resources, I be...

It looks like a slightly less attractive version of the Seiko SNK80X models
Exactly what I was just thinking... It reminds me of a lower end Seiko 5 series, except with a crappier dial.

This watch doesn't even rate a "meh" from me.

Re: Anyone ever screw up an ISOfrane?

FWIW, I received one of those "ISO-a-likes" from Borealis a few years ago that had a similar nick in the edge of the rubber. The Borealis folks sent me a replacement, but I ran the nicked one on a Seiko for an entire summer surfing, etc., with no ill effects. I eventually sold the Seiko with the rep...

Hamilton Khaki Field Chrono.

For a relatively humble watch, the 7750 in this thing is really accurate.

Another afternoon switch up. Late Christmas gift from my girls, but worth the wait. http://i.imgur.com/B018ZWS.jpg My son absolutely loves that watch! Re: 2019 Watch Goals

My SLA017 has checked a lot of boxes for me on dive watch desires, but the BB58 still has my attention. I could see adding one of those to the box next year. Like Joe, the Hamilton Chrono is also on the list, but I find the chronograph function more academically interesting than practical for my tim...

Reminds me of the local place that I use when I need work done on my Tacoma. They let me use a private office while I wait. I agree, the look is interesting. I'm just surprised some watch maker would engrave "Made in the USA" on the case back given all the previous uproar on this topic. Why? Re: Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap

Speaking of Seiko straps, I am pretty impressed with Seiko's new rubber (silicone?) blend and I appreciate how they include tubes in the spring bar holes for security. The Z 22 that came with my SRP777 doesn't have any tubes in the spring bar holes. Is it supposed to have them? I bought i...
