Next year?
I’m very hopeful. The concept renderings have been hot.

If I’m going to get a not very practical mid life crisis rig, a Bronco retro release could be the one.

Re: ARES Watch Company

Probably asked before, but I’m too lazy to look. Any chance of a Diver with date? The upcoming gmt has a date I saw that. I’m not as sure as I was on the GMT. Something about the hand length, dial, bezel relationship doesn’t quite work for me. I’m on the other side of the fence. I applaud Matt for ...

Re: Seriously...come on

I saw three of them at the last Mass Cruisers Cruise Night . Meh. They'd make more sense with two doors, a longer bed, and a lower price. Most people use them for suburban commuting or family duties so Jeep likely did their homework and the version they are making is the one that will sell. I think...

Re: Seriously...come on

Yeah, I could see a Titan being a PITA in DC. My biggest gripe with the Taco after nearly 10 years of ownership is the ergonomics. The floor is high for ground clearance, but the roof is low to fit into small garages. That leaves me feeling like I’m sitting on the floor in a bit of a clamshell postu...

Re: Seriously...come on

I do like that photoshop 2 door version, but then again I also liked that aftermarket company who sold a pickup conversion kit for Wranglers years ago. The photoshop looks almost identical to that old modification. The more I think about it, he more I’d probably think about buying a Gladiator if mon...

I test drove the Rubicon truck and was expecting to be wowed. Underwhelming, especially at that price. So did I I have a Tacoma and thought my truck is waaaaay better and 25k cheaper I can’t take the roof or doors off tho... The gladiators are not getting good comparative reviews, but they ...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

I'm partial and have owned a lot of diesels, but there's a certified pre-owned TDI Touareg nearby. If you haven't driven one, go check it out. The V6 is such a nice engine (and almost as quick as the V10 TDI we had). https://vwcpo.com/vehicle/WVGEP9BP9GD004983-2016-Volkswagen-Touareg-TDI-Lux/ Anoth...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

We've had a Honda Pilot for years and it is a reliable beast. Nothing except regular routine maintenance and we are now closing in on 180K miles. We'd swap it out, but with two kids bringing in either half a beach worth of sand, or half a mountain's worth of snow (depending upon the season), and no ...

I like the look, and the blue looks good. It’s just the 45.5mm diameter that makes me pause.

Local shop owner here in Portsmouth. I see it around all the time, but this was my first creeper shot opportunity. They had a lot of nice cars at Brit Bits last time I was there. Granted, that was probably three years ago. I drive by that place almost daily. Twice already today just running errands...

Re: New Seiko Thread

That Spring Drive GMT is hot. Wonder what that’ll cost? Also hoping it isn’t 46mm. They’re listing at over $5K. Ti construction, true GMT movement, Spring Drive, even the $5K price point (assuming street price will be a bit lower) are all good. I'm just not comfortable with the nearly 45mm diameter...

Re: Cray cray Rolex/Tudor story, I would be pissed also

This is what I don’t understand... you would think a guy with full warranty paperwork would be treated with kid gloves by Rolex. Whose to say he didn’t purchase multiple Rolex watches and just swap the bracelets? What Rolex seems to not understand is there needs to be both a carrot and a stick. The ...

I think the idea of expanding bracelets is pretty cool. It is the execution of the idea that is the challenge. I've never had the opportunity to inspect a vintage Doxa Expandro clasp, but the author's comments about the springs eventually failing and buttons potentially breaking gives me pause to wo...

Cool read - thanks for posting. I'll bet there are a lot of parallels between the author and many of us. I remember looking at the dive watches in the case of the G. Fox department store in Hartford CT (that'll date me) as a little kid while my mom shopped. Was a lifeguard from 16 to 21, PADI certif...

Re: Tudor BB58 Disaster

At least the video guy was honest in his admitting he bears a share of the blame. If I buy a $3500 watch at an AD, you can be certain I’m going to visually inspect it before finalizing the transaction. He says he didn’t have his glasses (I expect reading glasses) but those are easy enough to borrow ...
