Re: real-world experience of MM

My 001 was my first “grail” and I still love it (despite owning more expensive pieces). I wear it often and it’ll never leave my collection. I’m actually collecting spare replacement parts for it just to ensure I can keep it running years and decades from now. It’s the only watch in my collection I’...

Re: Lockdown Survival - what are you doing?

Just back from a 10K around the neighborhood. Funny enough, I left saying to myself I would run slow and just enjoy being outside. Turns out I posted one of my faster 10K times and I wasn't even really trying. I guess Forest Gump was right... https://i.pinimg.com/originals/7f/8d/ce/7f8dce33e8dd4ac60...

No, I like Kittery. Lived there, K’port, York, and across the river in Rye and Portsmouth. Born in Biddeford. Bottom painting wooden boats is what Aaayup! How did you end up in the place that's round on the ends and "hi" in the middle? Well, he said his Dad and Uncle were fishermen, so he...

This guy does crazy restorations on tools and other mechanical objects. Weirdly satisfying to watch. U2jNeObHnZY Yes! This guy is fantastic and I've lost so much time watching his videos. Re: Lockdown Survival - what are you doing?

Come on over to New Hampshire. We’ve got only 18 hospitalized patients in the state, plus I’ve got an N105 respirator and tyvek suit for you. All you need to do is bottom paint my boat! [/quote] Don’t do it, it’s a trap! I’ve bottom painted a 36’ wood cruiser and a 32’ Frost lobster boat in Kittery...

Seriously though, I don't feel good tonight. I have a bunch of tightness in my chest and my lungs itch. I realize rationally I'm probably just having anxiety and allergies, but fuck this is getting to me being in New York. I'm so glad I'm not in NYC. I know. I hope you are fine, but every time I wa...

Re: Lockdown Survival - what are you doing?

Give it a shot. Like I said, I have a friend who swears by intermittent fasting for weight loss.

I'm a fairly skinny guy to begin with, so if I fasted too long I might just fall through my own asshole and hang myself.

Re: Lockdown Survival - what are you doing?

I'm not certain I would be starting a fasting diet right now. I'm not a physician, but everything I have read suggests the best way to maintain a strong immune system is to eat a healthy diet, perform moderate exercise (nothing too extreme i.e. running a marathon) and get adequate sleep. I'm actual...

Ok. Gonna be the dick. How about if mod deletes posts going down the arguement road. Stick to topic. Unite against thread-jackers.
Sorry - thought the topic wasn't political in any way at all.

DWC is kinda known for threads going off topic, but if you want to be the topic police, go for it.

PPE - absolutely. Vents - maybe (we still have only so many care providers who can set up a ventilator). Most modern hospitals are set up with the infrastructure (medical air/oxygen/power) to use a vent in every patient room (all ICU rooms, Medical/Surgical rooms, birthing rooms, etc...) but lack t...

PPE - absolutely. Vents - maybe (we still have only so many care providers who can set up a ventilator). The main thing at this point (at least in my mind) is the R&D needed to approve and then educate care providers on the best treatment protocols so we don't need all those extra ventilators. I was...

Re: Global slow down...

Keep in mind that as isolation diminishes, there is the danger of a new round of cases. Asymptomatic people with the virus may increase the spread. I just watched a news report on the South Korean policies in effect to deal with this. They are doing a ton of testing (more than the US to be sure), b...
