Re: Strapcode Expandable Clasp Review

A lot of microbrands are using this exact style of clasp on their watches. I dislike them quite a bit. I have a 7 1/4 wrist and they fell like I am wearing a wheel balance weight on the bottom of my wrist. The only micro I have experienced with a similar clasp was Helson on their Sharkmaster 300, b...

Re: Strapcode Expandable Clasp Review

Just to add, according to a old review I found on WUS, the Rolex Glidelock clasp is also 45mm in length, so the same as this Strapcode. It just goes to show there really is no "free lunch" in the expanding clasp game. Another point regarding my observation of the clasp length being not really notice...

That looks enormous lol Sent from my Note8 using Tapatalk That's what she said  It is $62.99 worth of awesomeness!!! :gayumbrella: In all honesty, the clasp length really isn't noticeable on the wrist. The main difference between this and say the MM300 clasp is the MM300 hides the extension ...

Strapcode Expandable Clasp Review

The discussion on Sinn clasps earlier got me thinking about trying one of those expanding clasps, so I thought I’d put a little review out for anyone else interested. I bought the 18mm version for my 20mm BC300 strap that I run on my Squale 50 ATMOS. Installing the clasp was no problem. Strapcode in...

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191014/88c27094a37df6a8973c6f9743ccd65a.jpg I was surprised at how much I liked it on the bracelet (when I tried this weekend). We really need an adjustable clasp, so since you have the Sinn hook up can you make them get to it? I’ve been told it’s “on the list”. L...

Re: Kaenon - I still love them

Randolph’s are great. Mine are around 4 years old now and still going strong.

The NEX had a really good sale on Oakley’s this past February so I grabbed a pair of “bottle rockets” as running / exercise glasses, but I’ll look at the Kaenon’s when the Oakley’s wear out.

Re: Dumb question - Sinn ratchet clasp

I was thinking about getting one of these clasps to put on the BC300 I have for my Squale 50 ATMOS, but now I’m thinking that watch is too light / my wrist is too slim, for it to fit properly.

I’ll ponder a bit more.

Wait - you got a baseball (cricket) cap too? There is simply no argument to be made against that offer.
Well who couldn't refuse a deal when a baseball cap is thrown into the mix
It’s a damn good looking chrono too! Congratulations on the new watch (and hat!).

Re: New Travel requirements for Europe...

It'll be a bit of a PITA, but likely just an on-line form and 7 Euro every 3 years.

To be honest, I don't really see the benefit to this as security is handled by border patrol and "bad guys" will bypass those monitored pathways anyway. Its just another tax.

Re: New SpringDrive MarineMaster 300

The overly long crown is an odd design choice. My SBDX001 doesn't have this, so I'm not certain what made Seiko add the extra few mm's to the length of the crown here. I'm also not a fan of the new ceramic bezel insert, again preferring the old school lacquer on the SBDX001. I saw it at the Seiko B...

Re: Pancor's P03

I agree the blue one is the pick of the litter, but I've really yet to find a $300-ish micro that didn't have some major weakness. The usual deficiencies are crap case finishing, or sloppy bezels, or horrible bracelets, etc. I think I'd trust a $300 NAFT for ocean duties and overall longevity over t...

Re: New SpringDrive MarineMaster 300

I like it and I think it makes a solid competitor for something such as the Tudor Pelagos. The Tudor is a bit smaller and a few hundred dollars less expensive, but the Seiko Spring Drive is definitely an advantage in my mind (not to mention the diashield coating to keep the Ti looking good). The ove...

I dumped the Defender, as I could not deal with the “unpredictable coolness” of the Beast. Guard, guide, and push stick are all important to keeping all 10 digits unless you get one of the new models with the instant safety stop system that can sense cutting flesh. Even then I’d be cautious. Have you ever seen the safety chaps the loggers use? They are made from Kevlar fibers designed to...

I guess if this business model is good enough for Bill Yao, Eyal Lalo and Gunther Whathisname at Steinhart, it's good enough for Marc at Island.

Hell, that guy at Deep Blue has been selling SKX knock offs (the "NATO Diver"!) for years.
Isn’t Gunther’s last name “Steinhart”?
