The old joke with an XKE is you needed your mechanic driving behind you in a wrecker.
Maybe so, but still one of the most beautiful automotive designs ever created IMO.

They’ve gotta save something for next year. A grey bezel and white dial would be an interesting combo. How about an intro thread new guy? My name is Dick Johnson and I like fake watches. Close but Richard is better, and I’m pretty sure that none of my Omegas are fake. Cool. I guess you j...

Re: There seems to be an issue with Rolex's supply

a bunch of ad's are closing also. i know two rolex certified repairs shops that had their parts account taken. rolex said they want to only send parts to RSC now. This is the way to control your supply chain. Rolex serializes their products and I’m sure tracks which AD gets which serial number. The...

Looks good!

My wife has taken over ownership of mine.

I barely got to wear it myself, but to be honest, it looks pretty badass on her too.

Re: Has anyone seen Billwilson?

That’s a big pile of straps. The knife is a bonus too.

I think a number of service companies can replace the battery. LumTec can probably pressure check the watch as well (as can others).

I’d chalk this up to a challenging situation that ended well and move on. Enjoy the LumTec.

Re: Glashutte Original Spezimatic divers

I agree 100%. Again, I was just taken with the visual similarities between the two. In reality, we could probably find a dozen other models from this era with similar case designs. Like most things in watch making, the devil is in the details (and therefore the price premium). I actually like this G...

Not something I'd expect from GO but kind of interesting. I get the vintage roots, but a bit small for a diver at 39mm IMHO. I'm a big GO fan so curious to see them in person. Where are yo I seeing 39mm? This one looks great. https://www.glashuette-original.com/collection/spezialist/seaq-panorama-d...

Re: Glashutte Original Spezimatic divers

Interesting. The case is reminiscent of the Seiko 62MAS. I like the fact they color matched the date wheels. The 4 o’clock date window location isn’t great, but I think it’s cool that they squared it instead of the more typical angled numbers. It’s different and purposeful. I just need to get used t...

Looks sharp. Would make a great GMT... Glycine is indeed seeing around corners with the originality of this design. They’re visionaries like Yao. visionaries don't need to deliver for years. decades even. MKII, “death before delivery”. Well, we all know at least one case where this was true. At lea...

Re: Has anyone seen Billwilson?

Missing appointments, lapsed licenses, and petty larceny all suggest substance abuse issues more than anything else. Maybe (probably?) triggered by the family issue (or maybe the family issue was triggered by the relapse - who knows?). I'm still not sure why someone would use the name of the co-fou...

Maybe we'll see him again ......on American Greed? I suspect the real story is far from a "get rich at any expense" TV-worthy episode. My guess is the wheels completely fell off this guy's life and whatever issues he was battling came back to haunt him again. Missing appointments, lapsed licenses, ...

Nice! New? See some scars on those watches. Congrats!
I think that top watch is a carbon case. The lighting of the photo is just making the carbon fibers look like scuffs.

I’ve owned a few of their products (not the Anko) and found them to be well built watches. No complaints. My only issue (which is probably something that could be said about most micros) is service parts availability is pretty much nonexistent from what I’ve heard. If you accidentally strip a crown,...
