Re: Gift Ideas for my 40th...

And for all you guys just turning 40. FU. Seriously, FU. I feel like I’m turning 21, 25 or 30 again, since this will be the first “milestone” birthday of my adult life where I haven’t been deployed. Anyway, I’m really looking forward to this one! Happy birthday! I’m just angry that I skied a modera...

Re: Doxa offering help to the vintage owners now!

Latest is the guy contacted an AD in the UK (Blue) who was able to help get Doxa to find him a new crown (55CHF). So good news is he is set on the crown. Bad news is he had to jump through hoops to get a basic replacement part for a relatively recent model watch. As much as I like some Doxa designs,...

I know the lacquer used to seal the lumen on ceramic bezels can yellow with age / exposure.

I’m guessing this is what you are seeing here.

Re: 2021 - DEFENDER or BRONCO

But Toyota reliability, you guys. My reliability. Please don’t ruin it for everyone! Well, the reputation for reliability is what keeps my Tacoma resale value so high, but the damn frame rust issue makes me think about trading it in. I don't have a ton of miles on my rig as my commute is pretty sho...

Older Toyotas were reliable but their new diesels are having all manner of problems. I wouldn't go anywhere near them. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-08-01/toyota-faces-class-action-over-hilux-prado-filter-issues/10821680 I would not blame TOYOTA for reliability I’d blame tree huggers and their l...

Re: ETA movement repair?

I would contact Ginault first and see what they offer...if not a good resolution then hit up Terry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Agree with this. The Ginault people have been very responsive to me when I had issues in the past. For example, I accidentally dropped mine and it landed flat on it...

Re: 2021 - DEFENDER or BRONCO

My 4th gen 4Runner has had many little, dumb, hard to solve issues that have made it a pain in my ass. Currently driving it on weekends and in snow with the p0340 code and check engine light on... for some reason I still love it. I’ve had some of the best tires on it and it is incredible in the sno...

Re: 2021 - DEFENDER or BRONCO

The entire Toyota SUV and midsize truck line is grossly underpowered with the V6. They all need to be powered by a Turbo or SC, or moved to a V8. Just my $0.02... There are several YouTube vids out there of people building “Tacundra’s” by dropping the Tundra engine and trans into a Taco. I used to ...

Re: 2021 - DEFENDER or BRONCO

The newer Tacoma is powered by the new 3.7 V6 with (I think) a 9 speed auto trans. Your perception that it seems to always be hunting for the right gear and is underpowered is shared by other owners from what I’ve read on various Tacoma owners forums. There are trans reprogramming options you can do...

Re: 2021 - DEFENDER or BRONCO

Any thought on picking up a 4Runner? Given you already have the Tacoma, you’ll be familiar with pretty much all the features of the 4Runner. Depending on the year of the Taco, the engines might be the same as well. While I like the looks of both your options, you know the Yoda will be more reliable ...

Thanks, Todd - now you have me looking at a Series 40!

They seem like a pretty good option, with solid specs and offered in a reasonable size. Even configured with some extra’s, the watch I looked at was well under $2k.
