Re: Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap

Speaking of Seiko straps, I am pretty impressed with Seiko's new rubber (silicone?) blend and I appreciate how they include tubes in the spring bar holes for security. The Z 22 that came with my SRP777 doesn't have any tubes in the spring bar holes. Is it supposed to have them? I bought i...

Re: 40mm Caribbean homage by Timefactors

As for Eddie's reputation, at least he doesn't have a Helson situation on his record. For those not following on WUS, Helson released an Omega PloProf 600 homage that apparently leaks like a sieve. They are being recalled for repair, but I'm not certain how well Helson's brand reputation will survi...

Re: Karlskrona Hemlig - Latest design renders

Looks good. A couple thoughts - maybe the hands could be a bit wider and maybe the logo could be done in a dark grey rather than black on black. It just might give a little detail to the dial without giving up too much “tactical” style.

Re: 40mm Caribbean homage by Timefactors

I agree the bezel is a bit useless for diving purposes, but I like the overall look of those Caribbean homages. The handset looks consistent to the style and the BOR bracelet (IMO) is the right design for this homage. I'm taking a wait and see approach. It might make a good summer watch if the price...

Re: Uncle Seiko Chocolate Bar strap

Looks good! It kinda reminds me of the stock rubber strap that comes with the SLA017 (which I really like except it is super long - perfect for a wet suit, not so good for daily wear). The long side on this one is 127mm The SLA017 stock rubber long side is 142mm for reference. that is a long strap ...

i generally rip the bandaid off and move forward. Looking back there were many i wished i hadnt have sold but they all were sacrificed to get others....So the story goes.
I know! This is almost a self-torture thread!

Beautiful watches though.

Houston for a couple days. GMT because 1 hour difference seems to mess me up more than 5 or 6. I’m always calling home at the wrong time.

Re: Watch trading: a cautionary tale

The Tudor has been delayed in getting to RSC, according to USPS; I insured it for 3K. Is it wrong of me to wish for the package to get lost or stolen in transit? :banplz: Nope. I routinely had similar thoughts when I parked my old Jeep Cherokee with 250K miles on the clock in Boston / Logan long te...

Nice truck Paul, On a different note: I went to leave my house at 05.45 this morning for training, and as soon as I opened my door, my recently acquired Toyota Hilux of 6 weeks was not in front of my house. Some ass hole has stolen my vehicle during the evening. Hugely pissed off as I'd only finish...

Re: IWC Spitfire Timezoner

If you can't use the logical solution of a fourth hand to monitor the second time zone, at least use something like Alpina's rotating disc. This just looks like a second, poorly placed, date window.

Re: Alpina's Shadow collection

Reminds me a little of the Glycine Airman Base 22 Mystery, except I think the Glycine is the nicer watch. Both from the "I don't really care about seeing the time" collection ;) http://wornandwound.com/library/uploads/2017/05/Glycine-Airman-Base-22-Mystery-11.jpg My first thought as well. Always lo...

Re: Alpina's Shadow collection

Damn... I love Alpina more and more every month or so. Thanks for sharing, Tom. I think I'd like Alpina a lot better if they'd get rid of the goofy triangle at the base of the seconds hand and would lose the tapered crown. Both design elements are a turn-off for me. I think the tapered crown is onl...

The original is still of the best dive watches ever made IMO.

This is that watch with some upgrades...there is very little not to like
I 100% agree. The OG is still one of my absolute favorite dive watches bar none.

Re: Monta Skyquest Pre-order for 48 hours

So the 24 hr marks are on both the bezel and chapter ring. Does the bezel rotate and if so does the inner chapter ring move with it? No, I think the bezel rotates only. Not sure it it is bi-directional. The idea is to be able to monitor 3 time zones, but I've never had the mind that finds this usef...

Not bad at all but at $6500=7500 USD too pricey for that SW300... That would depend on whether that sweet jean jacket was part of the deal. An absolute steal if the jacket was bedazzled as well  That sweet jean jacket appears to be paired with - wait for it - jeans. It takes a special kind o...

Re: Certina DS PH200 Reissue

After wearing mine quite a lot I’m only able to find three things I’d change; * this watch should have 22mm lug width * drilled lugs * the spring bar holes are too small in diameter That last one is really odd. Normal spring bars have tips that are .09-1.2mm and there are countless options for repl...

I love the percussion lock pic, Chris! Best "tactical" pic of an Ares to date! O'Neil does advertise group discounts. Maybe we should do a northern NH GTG / Rally Driving Class event?

We'd probably have to do the driving class first. I'd hate to imagine the puke comets coming out of those cars with a bunch of hung over watch guys at the wheel!

I’ve never owned a Seiko. Hmmm. Guess it’s just me. I'm not a Seiko fanatic and I'm definitely not into the whole modding thing, but a basic SKX is a terrific watch to own. They're aren't the most accurate, but they're absolutely bulletproof. Put it down for weeks, pick it up, give it a little shak...
