Re: Setting time diver chrono' gmt

It’s probably more like a Rolex GMT. First crown position manually winds (duh), second adjusts main hour hand back and forth, third adjusts time. What you described (set time first using GMT hand and minute hand) and then adjusting main hour hand is what I would expect. Liked no quickset date (only ...

This beast of a Seiko https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200602/c03a5fd71910a415a546eadc2084c3c9.plist Great watch! I never really know how to explain the appeal of Panerai, but there’s just something about it. Especially the PAM 233.

The tan one has a misaligned chapter ring. Shocker! It's funny, in M@'s post about his new Transocean, one of the first things I checked was whether or not the chapter ring was aligned (it was). Damn you Seiko for being know for misaligned chapter rings! :tap: Hahaha Transocean is JDM. No misaligne...

I don’t mind it, especially since the date is orientated vertically. I prefer it to a rectangular window at an angle.

Re: Seiko "Transocean" Chronograph SBEC001 - a "value" watch for forum nerds?

Very very cool, Matt I think I’ve seen one or two of those for sale. Quick question - is the chrono hand gold, yelllow or just “steel”? Can’t tell I like the integrated bracelet; reminds me of linde werdelin Congrats! Seconds hand is gold. It’s metallic, so it looks like steel with a slight reflect...

Re: Seiko "Transocean" Chronograph SBEC001 - a "value" watch for forum nerds?

It's a heavy watch (but that's never bothered me) Weight : 242g (according to Toppers) That's like stacking two U1s on top of each other (113g each) and threading a NATO strap through both. But yeah, if you can handle the size it's a great value at Toppers price and it is still in stock. That’s pro...

Seiko "Transocean" Chronograph SBEC001 - a "value" watch for forum nerds?

Hot on the heels of a watch that is arguably the opposite of value (the Bond Omega SMP), I picked up one of these Seiko Transocean Chronos from Topper's Vault Sale. It's a really interesting watch that was completely under the radar for some strange reason. Looking at the specs, you'd expect that wa...

Re: iPhone to Android?

Late to this thread but my two cents... I love Android but think that Google's hardware is inferior to Apple's. I'd go so far as to call it crap, IME. I've had more trouble with my Pixel than I've ever had with previous iPhones. The screen is delicate, the camera went belly up and the charger cable...
