Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

I don’t understand why they’re this popular in the first place. It’s an okay watch.

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

GMT hand is too short. Otherwise, I'm digging the Explorer II vibe on the version with the numbered bezel - obviously influenced by it without being a blatant ripoff. I don't like the version with the interior 24 hour scale and smooth bezel as much.

Re: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Black Dials

I like the dial on the chrono, but overall I think I prefer the older design. I almost picked up a silver 47040 back when you get them for $6K. Do it ! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180808/a72cfa3d043fce041251e99bb19c8fe3.jpg That's the one I was always after! Sadly, that was years ago, when I...

Re: despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

I think the pre-ceramic two tone Rolex Sub in blue is a beautiful watch. I have a good friend who's had one for years and I never get tired of seeing it. I find the ceramic version a bit too blingy for my taste, but I feel the same way about the stainless version. I'm not sold on the Tudor S&G from ...

Re: 16610LV NOS on davidSW, are people on drugs?

Genuine question: is this strategy going to hurt Rolex long-term, or will it do little more than irritate watch nerds on the forums short-term? As soon as Rolex eradicates AD's who sell to DavidSW and the likes instead of directly to people as they're supposed to, Rolex will open back up. You can b...

Genuine question: is this strategy going to hurt Rolex long-term, or will it do little more than irritate watch nerds on the forums short-term? Re: 16610LV NOS on davidSW, are people on drugs?

On DavidSW, I've completed several transactions with him and never had a problem. YMMV of course. I don't fault him for the obscene prices. All the "trusted sellers" are doing this now. Back when new SS Rolex models were readily available, you could get a nice discount from any one of a number of gr...

3186 movement is the reason on the GMT. Still dumb.

I've had FB forever. Haven't signed up for IG yet, but I just created a Twitter account. Twitter is a bit like drinking from a fire hose depending on who/how many people you follow.

At any rate, nice giveaway T - good luck!

Re: Need a new series to watch with the wife. Suggestions?

Counterpart and Succession are good. Loved Counterpart, and I'm surprised about how much I've enjoyed Succession. Nothing like really rich people behaving badly, especially when the writing and acting is this good. Billions is another fun show. It won't change the world, but it has a very engaging ...

May be issues with the new movement... i heard this also  Something about the date wheel skipping a day and/or getting caught bet...

The funny thing is that the two watch brands in the world that arguably don't need a trade show are Rolex and Patek. They're both still in.

Re: Aquadive going down also?

Doxa is an interesting case given that they do primarily sell the same design with just a few variations. I'm just guessing, but I imagine what's keeping them alive: - Real cult following among dive watch enthusiasts. It's still a niche brand, but those who love it REALLY love it. - Unique design. N...

Re: any datejust owners here?

If your not needing the date, take a look at the OP. https://i.imgur.com/NleJM1Z.jpg This is what I wish Rolex would do with the modern datejust. I'd be a buyer at 39mm, no polished top lugs, and no polished center links. I'd have either an OP or an Explorer I right now if either came with a date (...
