Re: Ultraman!

Read a thread on Purist that a couple of Ultraman watches don’t have the usual Omega logo in the crystal. I checked several IG posts, too and same thing - Some do and some don’t apparently - different crystal suppliers?? I think I see the symbol on Rahul's crystal. Not sure whether it's consistent ...

I just think it looks kind of dated at this point.

Not an issue if the guy that's wearing it is also dated. :shifty:

Re: New SMP real-world photos

Still not really feeling it. I've never had a problem with the skeleton hands, but I don't like the way they've done the wave dial in this version (the old, pre-ceramic wave dial was a better look). I'm not overly fond of the changes to the HEV. I do like the newer, less pointed crown guards and wh...

^ my guess is we will see a modern 2254 variant in a year or two. Same dial, but 2254 style hands and markers, Speedy style bracelet.
That would be nice.

Re: Prospective buyer response (WUS)

You made the right choice. Even if he was completely legit, he's a pedantic PITA. Personally, I don't equate post count with legitimacy, but low post count is a factor. I've bought and sold on WUS and TRF, and my post count on both is anemic. I'm far more interested in references. I had a guy with n...

Re: Prospective buyer response (WUS)

I’ll leave the nickel and diming he’s doing to you, but I’d ask for references unless he’s already got some good ones on WUS, TZ, or TRF.

On edit: also what Terry says. Strikes me as the type of guy who will get the watch, find one scratch that he thinks you didn’t disclose, and whine about it.

Re: Jack Ryan

Do they make Ryan a badass out of the gate or does he go through an “situational evolution” like Dr. Ryans of the past? Without giving away any spoilers, he starts as an analyst in the present day (so no Cold War - focus on terrorism). But, as with the novels, he has a military (marines) background...

Re: Interesting thread on TRF - Rolex IS watching

I'm not saying you should buy a Rolex, and I'm not saying that you shouldn't, but just remember that a lot of stuff that gets reported on the forums with regard to Rolex or a myriad of other watch brands ends up being only partially correct or even wholly incorrect.

Decent looking for a 1655 homage, and I like that it isn't huge. The bezel is a bit too thin to my eye.

Re: Went to two ADs in Sacramento

I've owned the 39mm Exp I and the 42mm Exp II. From a comfort/balance perspective, the Exp I is one of the nicest watches I've owned. Semi-matte dial, which makes it pretty understated. Incredibly versatile. If you can live without a date, I honestly can't think of a better watch. The newer Exp II i...

As I’ve said before, they can do it because they’re Rolex. Non-WIS guy: I really want to buy a Rolex Submariner. AD: We are happy to sell you one. However, due to its extraordinary popularity, we don’t have any in stock right now. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how popular Rolex is. Such a great ...

Nifty. Every now and then I'll see someone on other forums claim a Rolex or some other high end watch is fake because of the IIII instead of IV.
