Re: Ford v Ferrari trailer

Movie looks fun. As much as I love the tune, Gimme Shelter has to be one of the most overused "hey, it's the 1960's" songs in the movies. Hopefully it's only for the trailer.

Re: Zenith El Primero A384 Revival

Probably wouldn't be my first choice, but it looks good. Smaller case sizes are better for the El Primero movement.

Re: New Seiko Thread

With all the variations, I imagine the NAFT must be selling like gangbusters for Seiko. Makes sense that it would be.

Just back after 12 week service.
Looks great! What was the service for? Was it the date issue I've been reading about?

Plus, the cracks, I mean CRKS, will give the watch a “worn in patina.”

Hahahaha

He started a company called BLK + YLW??????

Cerakote is a shitty case material too, as it’s not durable at all, so be prepared for a lot of BLK + YLW + CRACKS.
I believe you mean CRCKS. No one uses vowels, er VWLS, anymore.

That Spring Drive GMT is hot. Wonder what that’ll cost? Also hoping it isn’t 46mm. 44.8mm based on this GP article: https://gearpatrol.com/2019/03/21/seiko-prospex-lx-spring-drive-baselworld-2019/ And here's a second article that actually shows the GMT - again, 44.8mm: https://monochrome-watches.co...

Re: New Seiko Thread

I think the Seiko engineers worked diligently right through the day these new designs were due. On that final day, they got in early and finalized the implementation of many fabulous ideas. The working day ended and, thinking they had finished, they all went out for a celebration. Much alcohol was c...

Re: Change Of Plans

Definitely a good choice. Even if you had decided to sell it later, you would have taken a bath on resale. I'd never buy a new gold or TT Omega unless I was sure it was a forever watch. And I've yet to come across one of those. As for "ill advised purchases," I've lost count of the number of those I...

Thanks to all those who saved our ass! :salute: They were the greatest generation! Re: Seiko 6139 prices

Thanks Jacob super helpful as usual. I somehow want a TT small DJ or DD, not sure I can do solid gold, for sure can't do diamonds/stones. Me being Italian it would feel too mafioso LOL The IWC looks great No TT DD's. They're all 100% precious metal. A WG or platinum version would be cool, but proba...

Re: Seiko 6139 prices

The fact that you guys are bringing Rolex and Omega into a Seiko thread about price is telling. And talk about pedestrian- these Seiko have movements that require you to shake before you strap it on your wrist. Well, that's true. I absolutely love inexpensive Seikos for what they are. Sure, you hav...

Re: Seiko 6139 prices

Almost every watch that people want and doesn't generally suck is really expensive these days. The only exception that I can think of are 2500 POs and IWCs from before Richemont ran them into a wall. And the older seamaster like 2254, 2230, etc It is amazing we got to the point of calling a $3000 w...

Re: WRUW 31-MAY-2019

I frequently think about flipping my PO2500D for a Non-AC Seamaster, but I haven't seen a mint/complete/unpolished one of those in a while. This one isn't mint, but it's a complete set (save the outer white box), and I got it for less than $2k. Especially considering where Submariner prices have go...
