Congrats Terry! The odd overpriced travel clock aside, I still really like Hodinkee. Lots of good articles, videos, and pod casts. I hope it ends up being a successful partnership.
I see that Hodinkee didn't include a picture of you in the announcement. Wise choice.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
Watched the first episode of Lupin last night (new Netflix series originally broadcast in French). Even after my railing against dubbing above, which I still found distracting, I have to say it was pretty good.

Re: Movie suggestions!!
We just started a fantastic spy series on Amazon, The Bureau, and now it’s unavailable! That was suggested to me, but I hadn’t gotten around to it. Guess I won’t have to. Have you watched Berlin Station? Pretty good spy series. Not yet. On the other hand, Babylon Berlin was one of the best shows. A...

Re: New Omega Moonwatch Master Chronometer
Like the watch, but I don't know why they had to screw with the pushers. Hate, hate, hate the bracelet (but I like the new clasp). Plus it seems like an excuse for Omega to jack up the price on the Speedy, and I wonder if this new movement has actually been flight qualified for space missions (not t...

I wonder if Rolex is going to do anything new with the Explorer II. It’s the 50th anniversary.

Re: Does anyone own this one? Aqua Terra 2502.50
I had the 39mm version with silver dial for a time. Nice looking, legible watch, and 39mm was a good size for me. I was impressed with the case and bracelet - less so with the clasp (there's no microadjust, and the clasp mechanism just seems a bit flimsy). Also, while I'm sure most are fine, I'm jus...

Re: New Year...let’s shut 2020 down
I had a shitty new year's eve to cap off a shitty year. FML. I'm sorry to hear that. :banghead: I hope 2021 is a great year for you and yours. Thanks bud. I don't usually talk about this stuff but my daughter has always had some aspergers-like challenges to go along with her super high I...

Re: Feedback requested on selling Rolex Hulk
As others have said, keep the Hulk. Downside of selling/trading it is too high right now. And I know the color isn’t for everyone (paging Jacob), but I’ve seen a couple IRF and I think it looks great. Hello Jeff, What do I know? I still haven’t pulled my NOS 14060m out of its box. Seriously though,...

Re: Year End SOTC and next moves
I debated over adding the Explorer since I had the Explorer II Polar, but having the functionality of the Explorer II and white dial versus the simplicity of the black dial Explorer seemed to be the right combo. Both your examples are terrific. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If push came...

Re: Year End SOTC and next moves
Just the two pictured below plus a quartz Seiko for Brooks Brothers chronograph that was a gift from my parents (it has kind of a Patek or Lange vibe to it). I'd actually give it to one of my boys if either expressed interest. Pretty happy with the small collection. I had a few come in and go out th...

Re: Working From Home
i see a bunch of anecdotal evidence of what i think we're going to see a lot more of once we get to "normal" (whatever that's going to be). instead of people being in the office 5 days/40+ hours, depending on the kind of work people are doing, i expect to see a lot more part-time in office and part...

Re: Working From Home
I mostly enjoy it, but I still try to go into the office once a week or so. Gets me out of the house, which is good for me and which my wife appreciates (she was working from home before the pandemic, so sometimes she feels a little crowded). The office is sparsely populated enough on a daily basis ...

Re: FRI 18 DEC *WRUW*
Landed this today. I always liked the look. The bezel and case length help off set the case diameter, so at 36mm wears well. I wanted to get in on one before they started to rocket in price, which they are starting too[emoji15]. It’s a 2002 in great shape. Great daily wear piece. https://uploads.ta...

Re: New Seiko Thread
That King Seiko looks nice, but I agree it seems pricey. You can get some (quartz) grand seikos for right around the same amount, and even some mechanicals and autos in the same style as this one are within reach at that price (less than $1,000 more new).

Re: Cobra Kai Trailer
I was betting the guy Daniel was fighting in the dojo in the teaser trailer was Chozen. Cool they're bringing back the original actors. No Elisabeth Shue or Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) in the new trailer, though.

Agree with everyone that their explanation is BS. But they’re fixing it under warranty, so my thought is just accept their passive-aggressive “you broke it but we’ll fix it” position.

Re: WRUW 04 December 20
Finally did this. I was afraid to wait much longer given the way the prices have been going. Swiss only dial, which I think is cool even though it probably doesn't mean much. Great old rattlely hollow endlinks bracelet, too. I think this is just about the only watch that I'd break my "must have a da...
