Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

I find the design of the Pelagos very compelling. I like the completely serious austere German vibe it has. No applied ornament. Everything there for a reason. Casework has extremely sharp lines and dial is super high contrast. Could definitely do without the HRV, but just like with the Sea Dweller,...

Cave Dweller was my first boutique diver that lead me down a long and dangerous path.

Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?

Yes. I’ve sold every U-series Sinn I’ve owned because of weight. 45mm Planet Oceans too. I loved all the larger, heavier watches I’ve owned but when something had to go it was the heavy ones first. Since I wear most of mine on nato it was an easy choice. I don't recall having an issue with the weig...

Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?

I’ve bought and sold multiple U1’s. The weight was certainly the biggest factor more than size. Hated letting go of the U1P but I found myself not wearing it. Just never felt balanced on my wrists. Love the design, just not the feel.

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

All these talks and posts about Pelagos lately make me want a 11th and as a keeper this time of course [emoji4] It is definitely a watch that sticks with you in the head. I keep thinking about another too..... damn I hope they make a thinner version with the new movement. Not to beat a dead h...

Re: New clasp on the Speedy!

I got my speedy about a year ago from Hoppy's chop shop so it didn't include a bracelet. I am mostly a nato dude but I keep coming back to wanting a bracelet for it. What is the recommended setup for a 2015 3570.50, the part #'s listed by OP? Lemme guess. Ed bought it on the bracelet, but then sold...

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

I just stumbled across the mido ocean star in titanium...I had never heard of it but it looks really promising and a nice alternative to the Shogun. I’ve owned this one as well. If you like a good bracelet and don’t mind the orange, the MIdo is an excellent alternative to the Shogun. MIdo seems to ...

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

Hypothetical question .Would any of you guys still pick the ETA over the in house if the in house had the same 2 lines of text on the dial instead of the novel? Height difference is .5mm and all in the caseback, so yes, the dial is the turnoff for most. The advantages of the in house are clear with...

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

I owned a Shogun shortly before getting a Pelagos. Great watch for the price but certainly outclassed by the Tudor. The Tudor basically gives you Rolex quality at a lower price point and is one of the ultimate tool divewatches. Bezel action is tremendous with a stop at 12. Great adjustable bracelet...

Love those strap photos! Could you grab one on nato on wrist, with the angle being side profile with the 6 o’clock side facing the camera please? Had it back on the bracelet, but because you asked nicely. Single pass Toxic https://i.imgur.com/NmJf1gx.jpg https://i.imgur.com/m03XpHH.jpg]/img] https:...

That would look even better on a single pass leather I bet[emoji106] beautiful watch.
The fact that the caseback is dead flat and doesn’t protrude like some watches keeps it nice and low with a NATO on.

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

If he really wanted to stop it he could take zero cost pre-orders and build watches in appropriately sized batches such as done by OWC. This would provide him some assurance when placing his orders with his suppliers that he wouldn't be over extended. That model, however, wouldn't drive multi-page ...

Re: 58

Perfect proportions. I'm going to do something pretty lame, I think...mod mine with aftermarket Merc hands. Will be a perfect big crown Sub homage. It actually wouldn’t surprise me if the 5 digit sub bezel inserts are compatible. Outer bezel diameter is just .5mm larger, but Rolex bezels have wider...
