Re: Seriously...come on

I’m holding out for Ford to release the new Bronco. I've been waiting over 10 years since those rumor started floating around. I think the new one is going to be a huge disappointment, sorta like the new Chevy Blazer. I am also waiting to see how the new Defender turns out as well. Supposedly GM is...

Re: Seriously...come on

I’m holding out for Ford to release the new Bronco. Next year? I’m very hopeful. The concept renderings have been hot. If I’m going to get a not very practical mid life crisis rig, a Bronco retro release could be the one. Unfortunately those hot concept renderings weren't actually produced by Ford,...

Re: Seriously...come on

I saw three of them at the last Mass Cruisers Cruise Night . Meh. They'd make more sense with two doors, a longer bed, and a lower price. Most people use them for suburban commuting or family duties so Jeep likely did their homework and the version they are making is the one that will sell. I think...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

If you aren’t averse to American cars, have a look at the Buick TourX. I’d rather drive that than just about any small SUV. Agreed. Those are nice. GM interiors aren’t as nice as VW but the car looks great. Being a Buick you can probably get one with a nice discount. Good Outback alternative. Huge ...

Re: Ford v Ferrari trailer

I love GT40's, but always found it funny how this story is always framed as if Ford was this huge underdog. In the early 60's, Ferrari was a small racing team pumping out like 300 road cars annually. Ford was the 2nd largest car company in the world with huge resources. Definitely look forward to th...

Re: Calling all MTB experts

I went to a couple of local bike shops yesterday. Sales persons at both shops kind of recommended going the full suspension route due to having to be up out of the saddle more on a hardtail. One local shop rents hardtail and their sister shop rents full suspension bikes. I think I am going to rent ...

Re: Engine Tuners

Would a retune on a dieselgate TDI be advisable? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Those are tuned all the time. Engines are pretty tough. Can really crank up the torque with a tune. Yes, but that long VW engine warranty would be pretty much DOA. We had a 2013 TDI and it was very reliable up to 70...

Re: Watch modding, and now... car modding

Golf R with a MT and a tune would be ridiculously fun, I would think. Mine would have to be DSG. My wife doesn’t drive a manual and she has to be able to drive my car in case of emergency. You’re right, though. Since you are in Florida, I would go GTI and not the R since you don't really need AWD. ...

Re: Watching modding, and now... car modding

My warranty is up this month on my GTI. Debating getting a stage 1 APR tune. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I value reliability and the car has been great so far. Also, must of my driving is urban and the extra power won't get me much more than wheelspin...... Any my 11 year old has is eyes on the c...

@amckiwi If only having a chip mod and nothing else I would agree on looks alone they should not be able to tell or at least it would be highly unlikely but as even this minor mod usually involves a upgraded air filter and that is a mod that needs to be reported maybe not safe after all and it woul...

Re: Calling all MTB experts

I will put a vote in for going to your local brick and mortar bike shop.... especially given your knee/joint pain. Most good shops will spend time with you doing a proper fitting with seat adjustments, stem adjustments, etc... Some will also swap out seats, stems, etc... to fine tune your fit on a n...

Re: Watching modding, and now... car modding

I used to mod all sorts of friends Subarus and my last Subaru was a ‘05 STi with about 430hp to all four wheels on the dyno. I loved that vehicle and could eat most cars for breakfast on the track. I still find myself turning my head when I hear that throaty-sounding Subaru boxer engine as there’s ...

Re: Engine Tuners

The biggest gains are with turbo charged cars as ECU adjustments can modify engine timing and boost pressure at a given rpm to improve power. I also have some experience with VW/Audi. Reputable shops like APR really understand the platform and engine. A $600 stage 1 tune can add 80-90 hp. Pair a sta...

Interesting about the Tudor BB58 and GMT. Rolex is bringing their scarcity approach to Tudor now. Everyone thought the 58/GMT would be widely available by now.

Someone mentioned being patient with a car search. My “one that got away” (because I was stupid) was a stock, never tracked 2001 Acura Type R that I sold in 2004. I want another so badly.
