Re: Need an opinion on a Speedy Pro

I thought I needed a date until I bought a Speedy Pro. Wore it every day for a year and stopped missing the date after a few weeks. Now I prefer no date.

Re: Winfield Watch Company

I personally LOVE date windows at 4:30. Keeps the dial hour marker symmetry. This. Putting it at 6 (or elsewhere) destroys the symmetry of the markers/numerals/indices/whatever. Especially in low light situations where the lume is then missing or vastly reduced at that location. No date is perfect ...

Re: Swatch Group Announces Fall in Sales for 1st half

I don't know about the continued push up market. It works for Rolex because they're Rolex (and if it remains impossible to get desirable models, even Rolex may take a hit). Nobody else has that luxury, so I wonder if they're going to continue to suffer if they push their prices up. It's been a long...

The grey and blue one looks nice, side profile looks great too. Dont love the locking bezel mechanism either, but that's YEMA's thing.
Without it they would just be another Rolex GMT homage....

Re: Nove Trident 6.8mm dive watch

This is the watch in silver. I'm guessing they had to get rid of the second hand to keep it thin. https://www.ablogtowatch.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Trident-water-concept-10.jpg Ugh. These look so “fashion watch” to me. What, lack of any lume on dial, lack of second hand, and only text being "...

Re: Nove Trident 6.8mm dive watch

Case size: 46mm I would have guessed people who appreciate thinness would also have appreciated a non-gigantic watch. Great stuff though, something refreshing. I would buy it on principle if not for the huge diameter. I have mixed feelings about the design, but it may still wear ok as the Lug to Lu...

Re: Speedy Pro question

Don't have mine on today, but I have worn it a lot and don't recall the crown winding back after a twist. Maybe shoot Jan at Nesbit's an email. She is super responsive with questions/issues after service. Curious if they had to do much case refinishing and how it looked before/after. I've used them ...

Nice, but screw in crown with manual wind, and mineral crystal are detractors.
I agree. Probably were shooting for a thin case and couldn’t make a self winding movement fit?

The subject of Terry keeps coming up on that thread. Doc is certainly not helping his public perception by posting screenshots of old criticisms and writing 300 word posts. Looks unhinged. No wonder his attorney changed his number.

Agree completely. Don’t think this will hurt their brand much as many of their buyers simply don’t care.

Re: Tudor's Black Bay Ceramic One

Still a waiting list for 58 and GMT. Not all bad. The wait on the GMTs is due to a movement flaw. No kudos for that. That flaw was certainly a bad situation with it being on such a popular model. Rolex/Tudor share a single R&D lab so it was certainly surprising. Maybe that is why they are being slo...

Wouldn’t be surprised if they issue a special wearable commemorative version with the same dial and bezel.
