Re: WRUW 23 April 2019

Finally got a Doxa back in the rotation. The 1200 is a great size for me and has to be orange [emoji1][emoji106] https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190423/64e864eeca807adce43b5b1684696677.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190423/3576103d5e556f1c4d5eec6f97f507a9.jpg Great shot. Very interesting. A bit tough to understand the mechanics from the description, although it does sound like it conceptually is somewhere between a Spring Drive and Kinetic movement.

Photos from an article https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190417/c8a4b6a8ec2d7d67d645e7e0a2edad8a.jpg So you guys are ok with this? I can’t take this kind of thickness from a $500 watch, much less from a $6000 piece. It’s completely ridiculous. Love the design, but that shot kills it for me. Chunki...

Nice looking re-edition, but my enthusiasm was dampened a little when I found out that it has a Miyota movement. I'd much rather own an original.
Did you expect something else given that Citizen owns both Bulova and Miyota?

Re: Purchase of new Doxa online

Thanks for all the informative replies. When purchasing the watches I currently own, I was easily able to have the metal bracelets sized at the AD or boutique where purchased. This option is not available with Doxa. Does anybody have a reliable jeweler in Manhattan that can size the bracelet when I...

Australia.

You will thank me :)
Always wanted to go there. Any travel tips to avoid spending half the time en route? Where did you go there?

Thanks

Re: DWC Crowd Source vacation ideas

If you want to be in Europe I’d suggest either southern Spain (Sevilla Granada and Córdoba) or southern Italy (Sicily!). You will get mild weather, great food, fantastic cities with tons of history and art (just google Siracusa or Palermo) and cheap prices. Paris is beautiful but you risk freezing ...

DWC Crowd Source vacation ideas

DWC Peeps, my wife turns 50 this December and she has requested that I take her on a trip to a "surprise" destination for her birthday. Surprise meaning she will know the date, but I pick location and do all planning and she doesn't know "where" until we arrive at airport.... We like trying new and ...

Re: SEIKO PROSPEX Yellow Butterflyfish Limited Edition 2200pcs Diver's SRPD15K1

The 300m Tuna’s are a bit over 47mm and the 1000m Darth Tuna is 49mm... so this is a bit of a beast. Sunburst yellow is certainly striking though. This would definitely have wrist presence. The specs are wrong. I just found this: Case Size: 47.5mm Lug-to-Lug: 50mm Case Thickness: 14mm Thanks. So ri...

Nice case. Something about their dials and hands always looks cheap and plasticky to me. I think it is the beveled surfaces of the chromed plastic. Would look better if more precision cut. Looks cheaply molded.

I hate gold watches. But you know me I like a little bit of colour (ok a lot), but for the fuck sakes love of god why the hell would you put an orange dial with yellow gold ? I think it might be a generational thing. I see a lot of guys in their 60's wearing non-wedding rings, but not many guys in their 20's, 30's or 40's.
