Re: Right out of the gate.....New Sub $20,000!

If Rolex wanted to address the problem then they should up the supply to ADs of basic models, Subs, Explorers, etc- It's ok to maintain premium pricing and limited demand for exclusive models. Provide ample supply to the ADs and allow to them to sell to anyone off the street- not just VIPs. Rolex is...

Re: Hodinkee Watch Insurance

i'd hate to have to go get appraisals on every watch i didn't buy new... but i wouldn't have private party invoices, either at this point. I went to a high end jeweler who sold watches and they set up a time for an appraiser to come in and look at all my watches. I was able to use their private roo...

how does "receipt" work with purchasing used watches from private parties?
My guess would be if you want the preowned piece to be insured you would need an actual appraisal from a
licensed appraiser.

I have assumed that you guys with serious collections would have a rider/endorsement on your homeowners. That being said, as often as some of you buy and sell, I can see that being problematic.

38MM by 18MM thick  Always liked the Dreadnought but not at those specs.
13mm thick, 18mm lug width
Ahh- that’s more like it. Thanks.

Re: In Case You Missed It - Timefactors

Baby Dreadnought looks great and same for price. However I have a similar sized diver that I bought while in college and 38mm/18mm-lugs just doesn’t cut it, even on my smaller 6.75” albeit flat wrist. Also don’t like the idea of buying something from a guy like Eddie. Also don’t need more watches a...

Re: Because DWC members know their shit: Motorcycle questions - what to get for my first real bike

Had a lot of fun re-reading this thread, once again, thanks for the recommendations! TL;DR, I bought a bike. But first off: Well I crashed. How are you doing Mike, how's the shoulder? Bought a 2013 KLR650 from a hangar neighbor a week ago. I think I’ve just bought this on a whim. RJ, Andrea, how ar...

Have not done a watch crawl in a while-- those were some cool pieces you tried on. Wonder if Mayor's had any of the Rolex Subs or GMTs in their safe. Most of these ADs are keeping them in the back. Thanks for sharing.
