Re: Rolex AD event - 2018 Basel content

That Hamilton has piss lume. And long lugs. I don't think the dimensions are much different than the IWC Mark XV that you like, although the Hamilton is a bit thinner. I have no problem with 'vintage' lume. I have no doubt that the Rolex and JLC are 'better' watches in a horological sense, I just p...

Re: Rolex AD event - 2018 Basel content

The Rolex gmt is disappointing to me. The colors are a fail. I do like the OP. The JLC no date is 41mm. It’s a good bit thinner than the 42, forgot the exact # but it’s 11.x vs 13.x... It’s well priced but like you I found the bezel action disappointing and cheapened the overall fell. The bracelet a...

Re: WRUW 20 May 18

Good morning and a great Sunday to all. This morning I’ve been wearing the Alkin ModelOne proto on Art’s first weathered canvas [emoji41][emoji106] I quite like this combo. I’ll be switching later as I fly out to JAX for business for a few days. I was contemplating taking only one watch [emoji33][em...

Yeah i don’t think there is a better value.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue

I’ve been looking at those too, but worried the Small 38mm case width vs long 48mm lugs may not suit me. But the more I see pics the harder it is to resist, like the ones below on canvas. Of the two based on pics only I lean to brown but black looks good too. I may have to go try it on at my AD if h...

Thanks for the great pics and first impressions. Wish i was local [emoji4] We have a local Tudor event here soon as well and I look forward to seeing the new models in the metal. I really like the 1926 you posted, my favorite of that line as well. I’d wear that for sure. Great daily wearer and well ...

Re: Monta Basel releases just went hot!

Saw the new Monta lineup at the W&W thing in SF yesterday. Overall I was very impressed. - As respects the new Oceanking it’s clearly a winner. The new clasp is outstanding, dimensions are perfect to me, applied indicies all the way around, lumed bezel, etc. I liked the inky black dial more than th...
