Re: Car Spotting

So odd. This is an absolutely immaculate Chevy Celebrity Z24. Showroom condition. Who does that? That's funny. I had no idea they made a Celebrity in Z24 trim. My mistake. It was a Cavalier like this one: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191121/d905d81b78d6f5e7d6ee6427f29ddcd7.jpg I worked with a...

Meccaniche Veneziane is changing to Manta Watches now?

Hahaha WTF? I guess from all the bad press their previous company has been going thru they decided maybe on a company name change? Who knows
 I am just guessing though. Maybe the manufacture is reselling the product to another company and they are feeling things out?

You don’t need a special jacket, just take any existing outerwear and put some of these between the garment and your body.

Re: Down jacket ideas

I purchased a down jacket and was wondering how people wash them? Another purchase I made, due to the recommendation on this thread, was a Patagonia Nano Puff. So far it is awesome! How to wash a down jacket: Machine-wash your down jacket on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees °C. Carefully remove your do...

The watch looks fine, but Glycine's been doing GMTs for a (long) while now.

Money order (or check deposits, etc...) are even worse. Lots of times it will clear, and then your bank will find out it’s counterfeit weeks later, and guess who’s out the money?

(It’s not the bank)
I found this out years ago!! Freaking a week later I was out $300. :banghead:

i am sure the next excuse from him is he is using his wife's email address. That usually the way it works when they are scamming people. I have heard the "lost my wallet and can't use paypal" excuse way to many times. If this shit is linked to you bank acct you do not need credit cards or a wallet.

Huge congrats Brice. That watch has one of the sexiest curves in the biz imo.
I got to try one on at Windup.

Wears small and I ended up canceling my order.

Disappointing because it looked great.
I think with the inner bezel and the stainless bezel the watch looks more like a 38-39mm

I finally got the transmission in today. I ran a tap and die thru all the threads before assembly. I also was able to get some german transmission mounts, shifter cable, and throttle cable. I will get more some pics soon. I will be doing a light tear down on the motor in the next few days to replace...

Re: 65' VW Bug project

I may pick up one of those cheap blasters. I’ve got some boat trailer parts (fender hangers, etc.) I’d like to clean up. $30 and some quality time with a blaster and a rattle can of Rust-oleum beats $250 worth of new parts. I have had better luck using brush on rustoleum. It seems to coat thicker. ...

Re: 65' VW Bug project

Phosphoric acid (naval jelly) converts rust to a material that can be painted over. I use to use naval jelly when I lived on the east coast and worked on cars more frequently. That shit is rough, especially if you get it on your hands. Here most of what I have is rust scaling. So I just clean it up...

Re: 65' VW Bug project

Do you have a small sand / media blaster at home? There are so many times I've worked on stuff and wished I had a small blasting cabinet to knock the surface rust / old paint off stuff. Another option is to pickle the rusted parts. Just toss them into a bucket of vinegar for a weekend or so. The ac...

Re: 65' VW Bug project

A few updates. I cleaned the package area under the Bug. The undercoating was hiding some surface rust. Since the car is meant to be a daily driver now frame off crazy $15k restorations. I brushed on Rust-Oleum to cover the metal up. The are better options at higher cost. But with the way things are...

Re: Certina's DS Action GMT Powermatic 80

Just got it in from Joma. Still debating keeping it or not. The size isn't as bad as I thought, but it is still a large watch. The lugs do turn down and the case back is flat, so the watch wears close to the wrist. Quickset hour hand so perfect for traveling. 200m water resistant. My wrist is about...
