Re: Roadhouse 2.0
^^ Yes Roadhouse was great. Julie Michaels dance scene towards the end deserved an academy award. I started watching the new roadhouse but only about 20min in… will finish this weekend. I’ve never seen footloose but it seems sort of gay. Not sure I’d be into it. I have seen parts of Red Dawn on tv ...

Re: Roadhouse 2.0
First Patrick Swayze movie I’ve ever seen. Jesus, Ben. Go start with Red Dawn, immediately. Beat me to it. Red Dawn is Swayze's best movie. Also funny that he and Jennifer Grey were together in that before loving it up in Dirty Dancing. https://y.yarn.co/415f2f2c-2bd1-4b45-b016-01773ee4eedd_text.gi...

I have a good amount of his stuff on one of my Apple Music playlists. He died way too young.gwells wrote:yeah, jeff healy band is great. he's got some cool covers of zeppelin and the beatles, too (and others), on an album called cover to cover.

Re: Roadhouse 2.0
Ok I just watched the old one for the first time over the weekend. I loved it… lol. I also love 80’s action movies- actually that is prob my favorite category [emoji15] I’m very refined. Some cool things in the film- Jeff Healy.. never heard this guy before… wow great guitar player. Love his music....

Re: Rubber Straps - Not Fitting Properly
It’s all about the holes (like most things in life lol). Better rubber straps do help, as FKM, natural rubber or vulcanized rubber fit better on the wrist than the plastic Casio straps. Even my Gshocks which I love, I wear looser than I would a regular watch because the strap doesn’t have a lot of g...

Re: Bye bye Juice
This is really in bad taste I know, but about an hour ago I was finishing breakfast and knocked my glass of OJ on the floor and made a huge mess, and about 5 minutes ago I read that OJ Simpson had passed.
Weirdly symbolic.

Re: New GMT collaboration from Nodus & Raven
I like it quite a bit. But the price is high for it. Zelos releassing gmt's with the same movement for $300 less. $875 isn't a lot, but it's a lot next to it's peers. That said I'm still considering. I love it, though I do wish it was 41mm over 39mm. I know the market has shifted to the smaller sizes but I wish they had put it out at a larger size.

Re: New Seiko Landmaster SLA071
Well, I now have one of these and it’s much better than I expected. The “super hard titanium” looks excellent and makes it comfy to wear. The clasp has the micro-adjust of the MM300, but is significantly thinner. It’ll wear great on even smaller wrists. The compass bezel, while not as useful as a d...

So, please bare with-I don’t know your company or how it works, but if you are working on a proposal for AP, wouldn’t it make sense to get one from the AP website or better yet, email someone in marketing and explain who and what you are looking for and ask for a few hi res images of various AP move...

Re: Any thoughts on Apple’s Vision Pro?
I’ve been an Apple fanboy since the days of the IIc, but I can’t get excited by this. Maybe if the form factor could someday be reduced to look like a normal pair of glasses, I might reconsider, but since the release I’ve found myself wondering if this is a product that Steve Jobs would have signed...

Re: A New MKII/Tornek-Rayville Offering
Another thing I don’t understand….. the Seiko movements aren’t very accurate and do seem cheap in a watch approaching a grand. I think a smarter move would be to use the thermo-compensated ETA quartz movement, as used in Marathon products. We’ve seen great seconds-hand alignment in Marathon, CWC, a...

Re: A New MKII/Tornek-Rayville Offering
I have had the modern Paradive and Keroman...... no comparison to the MKII models of the past. Cases don't feel of similar quality.....build doesn't seem as precise to me. Big Don made a valid point in one of the WR reviews....... Seiko NH over $500? I may have this coming for review, and will ment...

For me, it would be the SKX.
Possibly the sumo but probably the SKX.

Re: Reacher Season 2
I liked cruise in that one. He wasn't bad, just tough to see him in that role after reading the books. I never read the books and wasn’t familiar with them at all when the movies came out. So seeing both 1 and 2 films multiple times, and generally liking Tom Cruise as an actor, is hard for me to ge...

Re: Interesting read
I’ve talked about this so many times for so many years in my reviews. There’s just no getting through to some people. I’ve even seen some say they would never buy a dive watch without one, and of course those are people who don’t even dive, let alone are a saturation diver. I remember many years ago...
