Re: A few Ti objects

I know I'm dredging up a really old (ok, really, really, really old) thread but I'm curious about the WT coin knife reference. Do you still have it?

No, I used a local Seattle repair facility that specializes in high-end watches. I asked Kobold to support them with parts, if needed, and they graciously agreed to do so.

SMG-1 back from spa treatment

Got my favorite everyday watch back from the spa today. And, boy, does she look good and feel good. Man, I've missed this watch. I'm not taking it off for a week. They did a great job. Everything works and looks better than it did before. They lined up the bezel pip, which was driving me crazy befor...

Re: Okay, now this is just getting ridiculous...

Relative to how low cost copies are hurting the original; First, all those copy/homage/inspired Sub watches haven't hurt the desireability of Rolex one bit. And two, the worst thing Kobold could do would be to lower the price. That would just look like the copies were on equal footing with Kobold, m...

SMG-1 Problem?

I would swear that my SMG-1 had a hacking movement. But, I adjusted the time other day and that second hand just kept sweeping. I need to hear from some SMG-1 owners, or someone who knows. Do I have a problem?

Thanks

Brandon, badass is the only word! You will not regret it, I'm sure. I've never been an "enabler" before. Feels pretty good. Of course, I was so impressed with mine, I also had to get the AT. It's a slippery slope, my friend. Anyway, congrats and wear it in good health. Chris Edit: changed "st...

Beautiful watch! I had the Debaufre version a while back. Great looking watch and kept perfect time. Like a dummy I sold it.

Congrats to you!

Re: Updated Collection - Group Photo

Nice collection! Can I get your thoughts on the Port Chrono? My AD is holding one for me (with rose gold accents though) and I just can't seem to pull the trigger. I have no dress watch and no Chrono in the collection so that kills two birds with one stone - downside, I will have to probably pass o...

Great watch! I tried one on at an AD last week. If I didn't already have a couple of IWCs, I might have picked that over the Omega.

Updated Collection - Group Photo

Just added the 18k/SS Speedmaster in the second row. Must stop for now. Really. I was given a budget of $2k for a birthday watch. Got the Speedie. Kinda blew/destroyed the budget.

Re: Selling off a third of the collection for a grail?!?!

I definitely believe in consolidating for a Grail. Last year I had a pretty modest collection but, after some serious thought, decided to skinny it down some and buy a couple more expensive pieces. And, a year or two from now, I may sell most, or all, of these and get down to 3 or 4 pieces at most. ...

Re: More WTF watches!

Rolex watches and diamonds just go together in some people's minds. Years ago, when I told my Mom I'd bought a Rolex Sub, the first question she asked was how many diamonds it had. When I told her it didn't have any, she wasn't very impressed with my purchase.

Re: Smart, everyday wearer - VC Overseas Chronograph or AP R

Well, since you asked. I'm not a big fan of the AP but it least it's distinctive and unique. It's shape and dial design are immediately recognizable to AP. The VC, on the other hand, looks like any generic watch to my aesthetic sense.
