Re: Impulse Buy on a JDM

I met the guy who did it - he was a Japanese national who was raised in a Buddhist temple. His English was not very good, but I'd bet heavily that his Japanese was perfect.

Re: WRUW 25 November 19

Put on a 22mm mesh, seems to go well with the engraved shroud.

Re: Impulse Buy on a JDM

Does anyone read Japanese here? I'd post 360 degrees of the shroud if somebody knew to translate the prayers...

Impulse Buy on a JDM

I saw this SBEP001 digital solar tuna, which I believe is only offered in Japan. It’s 200M wr, and multi function - all pretty common sort of stuff. I do like the old school friction divers bezel, instead of the nearly universally used unidirectional ones most pieces have. E57E4F40-0840-4F0A-9018-52...

Finally Took the Plunge on Vintage

I have toyed with the idea of picking up a vintage watch for a while, but was daunted by my lack of knowledge. But with alot of kind insights and advice from River Rat, I exercised the patience he counseled on and found a nice RAF 53. These are some really cool watches, with lots of good vintage vib...

Proof of Concept

The older, titanium IWC Aquatimer, ref 3538, is a really great divers watch. It is solid, rugged, easy to read, and keeps time wonderfully (mine is running +1.5 seconds a day). But it has those damned integrated lugs, making strap choices very limited and hard to fit. Apparently, I have too much tim...

Re: New Karlskrona Hemlig Prototype - Studio Photos and Review

I happen to like it alot. Nothing new here, not breaking any new ground, but gets all the important stuff correct. I'd buy one.

They may consider a name that can be pronounced for it though....

Re: Buyer or Seller?

I appreciate all of the thoughtful replies. I've been on both sides of this situation. My experience (twice) with the USPS is that once they say the package was delivered, they will absolutely refuse to pay insurance if it doesn't reach the buyers hands. On a third lost package occasion, they claime...

Buyer or Seller?

Looking for objective opinions - always a risky thing on DWC I know.... A $1400 watch is sold. Buyer says ship it, I won’t be home but post office will hold it for me. Seller ships it USPS Priority, tracking says it was delivered and left on porch. A week later buyer comes home and tells seller noth...

Is This Tudor Legit or a Complete Hot Mess?

There seems to be so many things that don't jibe on this watch, but I'm far from expert on these matters. What say the cogniscenti?

A Really OG Micro Brand From The Past

Does anyone remember Ken Sato and his RXW / ROCKX brand? He made extremely high quality replicas of hard to find Rolexes, Tudors, and Marina Militaire watches. They used 316 steel, ETA 2824-2 movements, were built in Europe, and usually had fanatically close attention to detail. They were distinct e...

Wow - the vintage re-issue! I'm jealous of that one - looks really nice, has to bring a smile every time you look at it I'd imagine.
