Sotheby's Important Watches: Auction Results

On the one hand, the prices that run of the mill Rolex models are commanding these days is ridiculous. On the other, it makes the "I hate Rolex" crowd completely lose their shit and mumble to themselves things like "my Panerai/Omega/Grand Seiko is way better," so I'm all for it in that respect. :mr...

Great looking diver. Hope it arrives soon. I just received three straps from the US; only took 3 months to the day!

I like that it’s easy to adjust while still on the wrist. Congrats

Congrats on picking up a great looking military Omega.

My first vintage Omega was a Seamaster from 1956. It has a special place in my collection.

Well you are getting a lot of expensive metal, 45 x 18 mm, and water resistance for your 6k.

I like that Marathon is branching out with a white dial but I’m not a fan of the Marathon symbol.

Yours is but a mere TSAR, not the elusive SAR.
A mere GSAR but hardly rare ;)

Re: Vintage Scubapro 200m

I’ve never seen that 30atm model before either (although the case does seem similar to a “Submarex” branded diver I’ve seen before). It’s awesome that you bought it new and used it for diving, I’m sure it’s earned the retired life and can let the PO have the fun now. Thanks for showing your Scubapr...

I’ve never seen your model before.

I bought my Scubapro in 1986 and wore it for 20 years. Still ticks but I don’t use it for diving. A PO 8900 is now on my wrist when I’m in the water.

Re: To say I'm happy with this one is an understatement!

Great buy with both the bracelet and strap. I really like the fit of the 8900 with the adjustable clasp, but would like to try it on the strap. But it’d be an expensive experiment if the fit isn’t as good.

Re: So... the new PO

I gotta tell you the amount of interesting watches Omega makes nowadays is amazing. Granted a lot of them are controversial and not for everyone. I honestly think they're overextending themselves with their designs and their LEs, but they've got enough "standard" models to keep people happy. Plus, ...

I’m a fan of the PO line, so I’m looking forward to seeing this new one in the metal. Hoping that it’s more of a cross between oranges and red, i.e. somewhat darker than what’s in the pics.

They’ve gotta save something for next year. A grey bezel and white dial would be an interesting combo. How about an intro thread new guy?
