Re: Another Omega Speedy Limited Edition: Hodinkee 10th Anniversary Edition

If a Speedy Pro and a Zenith rainbow had a baby......... Funny you mention that. This Speedy does nothing for me but I've always wanted to own the earlier Zenith Rainbow 01.0480.405/24. Great size, quirky but tasteful looks IMHO. Such an unusual watch and a relative bargain when they come up, espec...

Perhaps embarrassed was too strong a word. Its just that I am such a big fan of the original Speedy Pro...that I sometimes feel that even the slightest alteration is blasphemy.

Re: Ultraman on Recon

I’m almost embarrassed to own a Speedy. I have a 1969 Speedy Pro. But Omega has pimped out this model to the max. It’s almost revolting.

Re: Does DOXA ever have sales?

Ok guys I took the DOXA plunge....never owned a DOXA before but just had to scratch the itch. For better or worse 😂 Mimo contacted me and said DOXA is now ready to ship. His watches come with full 2 year DOXA warrantee and he beats the website price. Let me be your guinea pig!! I’ll let you know whe...

Re: Aquadive going down also?

I'm interested in both aquadive and isofrane. Any info on recent CS issues? I owned a BS300 when first released. Too big even for my large wrist but would love a BS100. I think they make (or made) great watches and I'm sorry to see them having difficulties. One of the nicer micros I've owned. The i...

Welcome.

black face is typically limited to a fewer number than the orange (professional). DOXA is known for their orange dial, so the black was historically "less popular". For more info, you'd need to ask DOXA

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

There is no easy answer to this problem. Same with certain custom knives, shaving brushes, etc.

Pre-announcing a time to order seems the most fair way to do it. I guess a raffle would be another.

Let's be thankful Jason makes product that's worth the hassle.

Re: Panerai shit the bed- by Archie Luxury

I very much enjoyed the early PAM's...when they stuck to their roots with the base models. They haven't held my interest since the PAM 127 Fiddy. Doesn't mean they are not high quality...but they definitely took a turn in a different direction after the Richemont takeover. A more generic, boring dir...

Re: despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

I've realized that I quite enjoy 2 tone watch heads (like the Golden Tunas and Omega Seamaster examples above).

What I dislike - for sure - is 2 tone bracelets.

That 2 tone Tudor looks great on the black NATO but I don't care for it on the two tone bracelet

America, we’d fuck over that coach. I said the same thing to a friend right after the rescue. The US is so litigious - everyone looking for a free lunch. "In any other country, if you slip and fall on the ice, people turn and look at you and think 'dumb fuck'. In America, they turn and think 'how m...

Re: ‘Still Can’t Believe It Worked’: The Story of the Thailand Cave Rescue

Those Air Force Pararescue guys are the best in the business. The Navy SEALS get all the press (and deservedly so) but AFPR are the toughest of the tough and do stuff on (and off) the battlefield that are beyond belief. I recommend David Robbins book series that highlights an AFPR unit. Great stuff...
