Expensive funeral

Joe passed away. His will provided $30,000 for an elaborate funeral. As the last guests departed the affair, his wife, Helen, turned to her oldest friend, Jodi. “Well, I’m sure Joe would be pleased,” she said. “I’m sure you’re right,” replied Jody, who lowered her voice and leaned in close. “How muc...

Nice but it is a copy of the SUS and I think a little too small these days. It should have been at least 40mm...

Baby Calf

A farmer was helping one of his cows give birth, when he noticed his four year old son standing at the fence, soaking in the whole event. The man thought to himself, “Great. He’s four and I’m gonna have to start explaining the birds and the bees. No need to jump the gun – I’ll just let him ask, and ...

Re: New Seiko model

Took off the X and for rid of the stupid pip... I’d say it’s an improvement. For some reason, and I’m afraid to say it to jinx myself... Seiko hasn’t f’d with the tuna Dial and slapped an X on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I think that some time they get carried away and put certain logos ...

Re: New Seiko model

Not totally new, there was a similar one with a "extra growth" on the bezel... dial and hands I think were exactly the same. SRP585, I think they called it Mohawk or something like that: https://www.amazon.com/Seiko-Prospex-Automatic-Stainless-SRP585/dp/B00OBPK8JI It seems that they removed that uns...

Re: Watch taste maturation... has this happened to you?

I don't know about maturation but change certainly happens. You see it all the time with people buying and then selling their watches... if they liked it and then sell it obviously something changed, usually the taste changes on myself and I find liking bigger, smaller, thicker, thinner, different c...

Re: Damasko rust???

I don't know about you but when the watch is on the wrist and worn regularly especially if hot or warm my wrist is sweating even if little, that is moisture and it is salty... I never had it happen to any of my steel watches though... so something is not right with that Damasko...

Re: Deep Blue's Master 1000 2.5

I had only a couple of the cheaper ones, not too bad. In my opinion the above are pretty nice design but very poor combination of colors. I would much prefer something all black and chrome or blue and chrome in addition to the above. Then again a Seiko Turtle might work just as well...

I jus can't get around the weird hour hand
I think the problem is that the hour hand is a mismatch with the minute hand... plus it is a little too thin. These are two different styles.

Unfortunately I cannot see any of those pics, I am blocked... but I would like to share a couple of pics of the last project I did with the Baltic Shield where keeping the original dial I installed some MKII hands originally made for Seiko movements. These seem to be a nice size and width... Maybe i...

Blonde interview

A blonde goes for a job interview. The interviewer decides to start with the basics. “So, Miss, can you tell us your age, please?” The blonde counts carefully on her fingers for about 30 seconds before replying, “Ehhhh … 22!” The interviewer tries another straightforward one to break the ice. “And c...

Annyversary gift

Bob was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really upset and she told him: “Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds!!!” The next morning Bob got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window...

Two elderly women were eating breakfast in a restaurant one morning. Ethel noticed something funny about Mable’s ear and said, “Mable, did you know you’ve got a suppository in your left ear?” Mable answered, “I have? A suppository?” She pulled it out and stared at it. Then she said, “Ethel, I’m glad...
