Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

Thank you Andrea! I appreciate it. And I absolutely respect that you took the time to write your opinion. All points are always taken with ZERO butthurt. There's no way in the world to get this level of insight, even if I paid big bucks for it (NO, I'm not going to start paying you guys for telling ...

Re: Seaforth GMT tomorrow

Well, apologies for another stressful experience for whoever tried to purchase one. The GMTs were produced long before the interest in the Seaforth blew up, so there were never many to begin with (a little under 100 pieces). I've been posting that quantities are pretty severely limited consistently ...

Re: Total WUS Question but here it goes...

Hey Eric, if you Google "nano coating watch" you'll find a company that is marketing the stuff for watch and jewellery applications. Apparently it goes on liquid and has to "cure". The dude emailed me but I won't post the info because I have no clue how it performs, how it will interact over time wi...

Re: Watchmaker... Who are You Guys Using Now?

Hi Dan, if I remember right you're on the east coast, but if you don't mind shipping it to the best side (West side), Nesbits in Seattle is top-notch. I use them for my warranty work (which is very simple stuff), but they handle lots of the usual suspects like Rolex and Omega, PP et al., both vintag...

Re: hmm...another microbrand

This must have been a hell of a tough watch to review, since the images and price colour the reader's bias long before he/she gets to the words. While it seems like there's some element of Veblenist marketing strategy in that price tag, I don't see how the markup is anything out of the ordinary. I s...

I couldn't resist...ordered the orange 1970. And if you haven't already checked out his website and Instagram, it's well worth your time. He's a collector with some rare, mind-blowing pieces.

Re: Halios Seaforth

Love the gild dial Seaforth. May be my first Halios. Are there any images of the rubber strap? Hey Jeff - I'm leaning towards including the BC rubber NATO as the rubber option. The alternative is one of those smooth, minimal rubber straps (also from BC), but I think that might be a little bland. A ...

Re: "Wind Up" in NY by Worn & Wound Oct 21st-23rd

Side story from last year: Jorg Schauer was in mid-sentence and Steve from Benarus handed him one of my watches for no apparent reason. Jorg kept talking and didn't look down once. I was crushed. You know what Jason, out of so many companies in the micro world you do so many things right. Some peop...

Continued... Squale! Yeah, this thing is just as sweet in the metal. Mark from Long Island Watch was exhibiting on their behalf. The bezel is an enamel material on top of metallic applied markers. Retro look but with modern tech. That blue just works in person, but it's not going to be anybody's ONE...

Re: "Wind Up" in NY by Worn & Wound Oct 21st-23rd

Since I'm logged in, I thought I'd share a brief show report. I flew out for a day and a half to check out the sights, meet up with a few fellow micro owners (who I'm glad to call friends) and stuff my face with Shake Shack. This year's show was held in Chelsea Market, which I thought was a fantasti...

Don't think this was handled badly at all. It's marketing genius - they don't need the likes of us attending, but they do need the likes of us talking about it.

When he found out the cost he realized it was much more than he anticipated. Now that's not the fault of the op but I can understand why he would not want to spend so much on shipping. And that is why many sellers will not ship outside the USA. This exactly - he probably mistakenly thought that the...
