Re: Calling all MTB experts

The great thing about mtb’s these days is that there is definitely one out there to suit everyone’s riding style and geography. And what works well for one guy and their spot isn’t the best option for someone else. My brother rode his first full squish yesterday and decided it wasn’t for him right n...

Re: Calling all MTB experts

Funny this thread popped up as I’ve been spending less and less time looking at watches and more and more time drooling over bikes. After a 6 year hiatus I just picked up a Giant Trance 29 and am having a blast! Actually headed to the lake tomorrow to demo a few from the local bike shop for some fun...

Re: Do you still have the watch that got you started

I’ve still got both of mine. My first watch that my parents purchased for me, an old Lorus Mickey Mouse watch. The band has long since been destroyed. I recently put in a new battery and it’s ticking right along 34ish years later And the second watch is the first watch I purchased with my own money ...

Isn’t it a percentage just like “Swiss made”? You only have to get 60% to claim Swiss made. Same thing here I figure.

I love my stainless version. Thought about selling but it’s just way too fun. And I really like the vertical brushed bezel.

Looks good. Can’t afford it but it’s one of their better LEs. 38mm no date.

Re: Oris + Hodinkee collaboration 6-26-19

Echo a lot of the stuff here. This isn’t a $2300 watch and I’m wondering why they made it a manual wind. They’ve definitely ridden the diver’s 65 pony as much as they can.

That said I’d still like to pick up the OG with numerals for a much more reasonable price sometime in the near future.

The new SMP’s really are quite stunning and a relative value compared to a lot of other comparable watches right now.

Re: Full Circle

Had one and stupidly sold it too. Wish I would have kept it... BUT it’s a good reminder to not flip some of my other watches and capture the “profit” because I’d just end up wanting another down the road. Agree. This isn’t the only watch I’ve repurchased but this is the one that really has me think...

Re: Full Circle

I hear you guys on the Sub. It’s really great and for what ever reason my collection just doesn’t feel right without some sort of Sub/ Sea-dweller variant in it.

Has anyone tried the OP 39? The white dial looks great in pics.

Full Circle

Been a little while since a proper post so I figure I’d share some of what I’ve been doing the past few months. In May of 2016 I took a leap of faith and sold a Submariner and a Speedmaster for a 116600 Sea-dweller. The Sub was starting to feel a little plain and the chunkier SD seemed like it may s...

There are some “trusted sellers” (davidsw, Takuya, ocrolexguy etc.) on the various forums. You’ll pay a little more but it’s peace of mind.
