Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?

Geez some of those watches are huge! Still undecided on what to do. I’ll likely hold on to the U1 at least for a bit longer and make sure I want to flip before letting it go. In the meantime I’m gonna start drinking some protein shakes. Can confirm after 6 years of protein shakes wrist size did not...

Re: Ever sold a watch because of weight?

I will say it does feel balanced on the bracelet and maybe after a few days I would adjust, but in a collection it likely will only be on the wrist a day or two tops. Tried the rubber and iso as well and much prefer it on the bracelet save for the weight.

Ever sold a watch because of weight?

WUS post incoming. Owned this U1T a few weeks now and I still can’t get used to the weight. I love it on the bracelet but damn it’s heavy! Especially after a day or two of wearing the Explorer. I’m expecting some weak wrist jokes but you guys ever sold a watch because of weight? The older I get the ...

got the bracelet in and mounted on the U1T. This thing definitely has some heft to it.

Re: despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

Not so much two tone but I am warming up to gold or the look of gold lately. The Solar Tuna 498 and the new gold Turtle are both pieces I wouldn’t kick out of bed.

Re: WRUW 02 Aug 18

The AD I ordered my BB58 from has been telling me for months I would get one of the first ones. Two days ago they told me it'd be probably October before they'd have one for me. I was so disappointed I bought a placeholder. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180802/dcef5d61d8d3ef572d1b5b5fbb8332bb....

Re: Hamilton in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series

In the 2014 movie "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit", the character also wore a Hamilton, the black Khaki Field Titanium. Unfortunately, it was only shown in a very blatant product placement shot to activate its "GPS tracking". It was also inconsistent with the rest of the movie where every shot that show...

The 497 with a stainless shroud could be a great alternative to the out of production 015.

Re: Seiko SNE498 arrived

Well this showed up today and I’ve gotta say, Seiko did a good job with this one. Gives me all the Tuna vibes at half the Tuna price. Different color scheme than what I usually go for so it’s a nice change of pace. And I was afraid it may be a little too light with the plastic shroud but it’s got so...

Re: Seiko SNE498 arrived

Couldn’t take it anymore and mine should be here Monday.

From the looks of it this is going to wear perfectly on the wrist. Still undecided on the metal shroud. Hopefully this scratches my Tuna itch at less than half the normal price.

Re: Hodinkee's

This one ticks so many boxes for me I have been wearing it as my one watch for a while now. Changing straps based on use and gtg. I am going to see how long I can make it before switching off. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180711/7045faece38d3f7fe00e2aa339b35b14.jpg I really want to try one of...

Re: Hodinkee's "One-watch" article

116600 Sea-dweller for me. All the modern touches with a date and matte dial in a 40mm size. I enjoy how unique it is and I don’t find it overly thick or heavy at all. That or the Mark II 214270 Explorer. Just so damn comfortable. As far as inexpensive option, Sinn 556 would be a great choice or the...

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue

Guys, we’re talking about a $400 watch and comparing it to an IWC. I think it’s fair that the Hamilton would lose that one. The Hamilton is still cheaper than most micros as well. If you take it for what it is, a redialed Khaki field mechanical with new hands and a different strap it’s a fun little ...

I think it wears large for 38 with the long lugs but that’s just me. So far I’m digging it as a grab and go. Keep forgetting to wind it.
