They need to make a brown one - then everyone can call it the "shit monster".

Re: MM300 being discontinued

The whole lack of parts comments in the 6159 thread makes me really think twice about higher-end Seiko's (despite owning one), and especially the wisdom of acquiring an MM300 now that it's being axed.

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!

Normally i am a big Seko fanboy. but, after buying a SBDX009 limited Edition Landmaster i have problems with Seiko and Le´s. Why? The tube is threaded. Mailing for 3 weeks with Seiko JP and they just told me no parts available and no chance to repair it. That is the difference to a really big playe...

I was offered one at a great price by the dealer Jeff hooked me up with. I passed because I don’t think it looks as good as the regular versions. The hands look bad.
I'm looking for a good dealer (not for this watch, but for future acquisitions), if you're willing to share info.

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

will be interesting to see if someone got both SLA and Budget MAS to compare their quality, finishing etc. Obviously minus the movement. 3500$ vs $600. Edit: I think it would be more intriguing comparison than vs Rolex I agree. Between the new 051/053 seems like an obvious comparison, but also agai...

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

I'm assuming what Jacob is trying to say is that if you don't see it it shouldn't matter to you :) I got that message, even if the underlying assumption seemed to clearly be that I would only care if someone else cared. I get it, there's a lot of precedent for that. But my goal was understanding, s...

And I'm saying "see for yourself". WUS is a spoon feeding forum. If you can't see a difference in the sharpness of the transition from brushed to polished, or the smoothness of lume application just roll with it. Your life as a watch guy will be much more enjoyable. In any case, the apparent qualit...

I have no idea if he is. However, if you can't tell the difference at that level why do you care what he thinks? I'm not saying I care what he thinks in the context you're referring to; I'm saying I'm interested in seeing what he's seeing that makes him say what he did, especially since I have acce...

Buy a loupe or a macro lens for a camera and take a look. You have eyes.
Interesting. I didn't even think that inherent in his comment was the assumption that he was looking at it on that level. Makes sense I guess.

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

I just picked up another 114060 Sub. I'm not joking when I say this Seiko is close. The finishing isn't quite there, neither is the movement. The "look" is great, the feel is 90% there. All in all she's priced well. Can you elaborate on this? I'm genuinely interested. As someone in his first year o...

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

Back when you could get a used Sub for $3500-4500 I'd say get that, but those days are long gone. Not many that compete with this in the $3000-4000 space. IMO. The Black Bay comes to mind (of course), though I was never a big fan and I think the SLA looks way better. But, that's me. And if you want...

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

List seems fine. Not sure this is the surefire moneymaker that people have claimed it will be though. I know there was one that sold on eBay for $4,300 from a Hong Kong seller. If not for the crazy selling fees I'd have tried it with mine, but the net on that is around $3,800 (and ~$150 less for me...

With luck some could find unsold SLA017's a year from now, on sale for 20-30% off clearance. That would be nice.
At the current rate, that seems unlikely. Or maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better about paying list.

Re: 62MAS-Inspired Seiko Dive Watch

Here it is on a BC 400 CT. I think the weave pattern is kind of reminiscent of a tropic. I like the fold over clasp as it keeps everything thin and streamlined. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170721/715337ff66a0b420f97075a37e504e9a.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170721/4abdf24afe3150718...
