Re: Interesting thread on TRF - Rolex IS watching

Rolex created the problem- go look at the OP 41’s in orange, pink, Turqoise all retail for $6000 and selling for 3-5 times msrp… I wonder how these grey mkt dealers are getting brand new watches— my guess.. from the ADs… if Rolex increased production they would squash the grey mkt or at least reduc...

Re: "Gloom, despair, and agony on me." - Hee Haw 1969 (Pic Heavy)

Did the same Maybe a variety of 40 Rolexes. 1/2 dozen Seamaster 300's. 3 Speedmasters, 4 Tudor subs, Longines, IWC's and Omegas galore. Had a Longines 13ZN in an oversized waterproof case with 2 pushers worth about $40,000 today I sold for $2000 a week after I paid $250. It did have a very bad dial ...

Re: Interesting thread on TRF - Rolex IS watching

Fact is. Manufactures created the grey market by forcing AD's to buy watches they can't sell in order to get the ones that do sell. Besides watches. AD's have to buy accessories etc. for every brand they have in stock which costs money and which they would prefer to use on watches. If they can't sel...

Re: watchbandsonline.com question

I stopped buying due to weight and slow sales. Those straps weigh a ton and a medium order could cost a bit in s/h Also. Took almost 3 months to sell the last black 18 mm and they didn't want to make 22 mm as some were asking Now they do and you can buy turquoise and a load of other colors they didn...

Re: watchbandsonline.com question

How large is your sons wrist and size of watch? I used to sell BC straps and still have some 18 mm, but small problem with light colored straps is sometimes black (which is part of the color mix) can be seen in light colored straps which doesn't help in the sale and yellow not a quick seller (sold o...

Re: A Pam full of worms, interesting read...

I posted this on another forum and fact is. Loads of companies do the same thing. Movement is inhouse if you want to get technical about it. the company that makes it is owned by Richemont who also owns Panerai. It's not from an outside company. Until recently. Rolex didn't make it's own movements. ...

Re: U.S. Coast Guard 2.5 Ounce Silver Medal 8.17.21

Canadian mint pumps these types of coins out. While many are cool looking. They don't have the value to match the asking price. The coins have denominations that if the dollar becomes worthless. It has value as silver. If silver becomes worthless. It has value as money. Sadly. If you pay $80.00 and ...

If you can try them on. Try them on and decide what fits you best. Some feel self conscious wearing something that just looks too large for their wrist. Some think it looks fine The cushion case makes the watch wear smaller than a fully round case There's always the Due models. Some people look down...

I would think all made to the same standards. Even one stated as quality could break due to a simple flaw on one of the lug pins

I always test the spring tension in mine. If they have a good spring resistance when pressed down. I use. Weak spring with little resistance get tossed

Considering the fact that Panerai has a habit of blaming owners when something goes wrong with their watches and has a problem honoring a 2? year warranty. Can't wait to see what they do when someone brings in an 8 year old watch for repair Just glad mine have Unitas movements which any watchmaker c...

PC's are all I've owned. I can adapt it anyway I want whereas Apple is pretty much Apple only products

Use mine for work and gaming, but not a high powered gaming PC.

Currently replaying part of Half-Life which works with MS10. Sadly. Can't play FO3 with MS10

I had about 5 Caribbean 1000 models and one had a broken crown. If yours is the same design. Don't think you can buy one. The case tube on mine was threaded on the inside and crown tube was threaded on the outside Parts suppliers do sell threaded tube and crown sets if you want to change it over DON

You can buy straps from Hirsch. Can probably custom order through a retailer in any material and store will attach it for you

Might be an extra cost for a strap that usually isn't available in an open end design

Just a warning. Many parts for older vintage JLC's are discontinued. If JLC has them. They won't sell them to you. You will have to send them the watch for them to check and then tell you the cost. They wanted one time almost $700.00 for a movement ring and a dial for a watch that only sold in close...

Lots of vintage models have gone way up. I bought vintage Omegas for $75 - $150 from 1998 till about 2006 when priced started rising. Same for those little Tre Tacche Longines cased models and never paid more than $75.00 Sold my Omegas around 2009 after my watchmaker passed away and didn't do anythi...
