I always test the spring tension in mine. If they have a good spring resistance when pressed down. I use. Weak spring with little resistance get tossed

I had about 5 Caribbean 1000 models and one had a broken crown. If yours is the same design. Don't think you can buy one. You can buy straps from Hirsch. Can probably custom order through a retailer in any material and store will attach it for you
