This one’s been getting worked out as a tool watch today. Climbing in and out of trench boxes, hooking up slings to the excavator for lifting, and a little confined space work.

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

For reference we have a 2017 Rogue and I am just doing early research for our next vehicle and I’ve been looking at in the 33,000 area. My top picks are an upgraded Rogue, a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Tiguan with the Tiguan in the lead for what we want inside and the look of the vehicle as well, as I l...

Re: Seriously...come on

For many humans, a vehicle creates identity and the sense of individualism. The manufacturer knows it, so they price the vehicles accordingly.. Yeah, we have family that spends a lot on new vehicles every few years and they think I’m insane for buying watches. I’ve made money over the years, and we...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

We are looking now and doing research for when our lease is up early next year. I would look at The CRV as it has 37 cubic feet in the back, possibly the VW Tiguan though I’m not sure what year it got upsized as it currently is for the 2019 model as it used to be smaller. Another option is the Ford...

I may need to go to a dealer and check them out. Haven’t been in one in 20 years and heard they’ve come a long way.

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

Honda enjoys an undeserved reputation for reliability: http://www.hondaproblems.com/transmission-failure/ https://www.consumerreports.org/car-repair-maintenance/honda-cr-v-affected-by-engine-trouble/ Many of Honda's earlier transmission issues were overblown, but generally they earned their reliabi...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

The only negative is the Honda Pilot is loud (louder with wind and road noise than my Tacoma). For this reason I might consider looking at the Acura MDX (which I think is the same platform as the Pilot, just with better sound deadening and upgraded interior / accessories). Our Pilot was also kind o...

Re: SUV/Crossover Suggestions

I'm partial and have owned a lot of diesels, but there's a certified pre-owned TDI Touareg nearby. If you haven't driven one, go check it out. The V6 is such a nice engine (and almost as quick as the V10 TDI we had). https://vwcpo.com/vehicle/WVGEP9BP9GD004983-2016-Volkswagen-Touareg-TDI-Lux/ Anoth...

Are you looking to lease or buy? Assuming buy with your price range and if the commute is that far.

Buy and I have an aversion to Subaru's - they are the quintessential CO car!

SUV/Crossover Suggestions

I’m interviewing for a new job downtown and will have to commute again if hired, so it’s time to consider getting rid of the old F150. Here my wish list for the replacement vehicle. Wants: 2-3 year old model Reliable/low maintenance cost <$30k USD AWD / 4WD Good gas mileage (>30 highway) Room in the...

I see no reason for a full suspension bike in South Florida.

Re: Calling all MTB experts

FS are comfy for going over rocks/roots, but you lose some pedaling efficiency and add weight and maintenance. I still ride FS but live in Colorado where we are routinely dealing with a lot of rocks and roots on the trails we ride. Hard tails are lighter and cheaper. I'd only go FS if you you have a...

Re: Calling all MTB experts

If I remember correctly, you’re a short guy. I wouldn’t suggest a 29 inch bike to someone shorter than me (5’8). Most decent modern bikes will get the job done. I'm 5'10 with 30" inseam. The bike I rode might be a touch big but it felt good. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk Ok, sorry. It should...

Personally, at that price point and component setup, if this one you want, I'd buy the one at the link below it it's the right size - not a LTD but brand new and no wear and probably just a different paint job https://www.nashbar.com/fuji-nevada-1.0-29-mountain-bike-2017-17-inch-yb-n91-17/p911477 ED...

Re: Calling all MTB experts

Bicycle Blue Book doesn't show a 1.0 in 2017. https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/SearchListing.aspx?make=681&model=57476 Usually a bike is worth about 50% within a year or two and lower if the components are worn. Take it to a bike shop and have them look at the fork, drive train (Chain / sprockets) an...

I've never seen anyone mount bar ends in the middle of the bars - so weird. Those are not "high end Shimano components" - they are middle of the road components. Here's the hierarchy of the Shimano groupsets. https://www.evanscycles.com/coffeestop/advice/the-complete-guide-to-shimanos-mountain-bike-...
