Re: Aegir is still here
I still have plans, just can not make anything work with the $AUD. Have not lost the desire to make it happen!

Re: How many?
Back in the day, the CD1/2 were relatively expensive for a micro. These days they wouldn't be when compared to the pricing of some of the other brands like Monta, Resco, Oak & Oscar, etc. Perhaps the market wasn't quite ready yet for Aegir at the time. I have no idea what Todd’s plans are, but whil...

Re: How many?
Off topic a bit and maybe not appropriate but Todd mentions that a serious diving accident laid him up for a period which allowed for the development of the watch but I have never seen details about the accident. Can anyone comment? I don't know exactly. I think he got hurt and couldn't dive again....

except for the $600 service and the 6 months to get it back, $200 is actually very goodJP Chestnut wrote: ↑Wed Mar 14, 2018 12:03 pm$200 for a new crystal. Rolex will want to do a service while swapping, if you send it to them.

...really piss me off! I searched “PAM 682 nato” and started clicking on links. I wanted to see if anyone has tried a nato or Zulu on this smaller model. As I’m clicking on the first few links, end up on some shitbird rep review site where they simply took the HODINKEE review and photo, but inserte...

It always drives me a bit crazy when the clasps on my bracelets get desk rash from wearing them in everyday life. Many people see it as just part of watch ownership. I do not.....I like to keep them looking good. Here is where is gets WUS-ish. I once read something about how people use clear finger...

Bronze. You will sell a shit-ton of them Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Well, Bronze with stainless pins and screws can be done without any investment extra. I only need to source bronze 3mm plate, and 8mm plate I think it is for Isofrane tangs. Draw the parts and cut them out. Bronze is easy t...

I believe the crux of the author's post is the "rule" that says if you buy the mold, it is yours. I believe the author is misguided in this fundamental aspect. There is no "rule". There is only your contract with your supplier and your ability to enforce said contract. First, I find it very hard to...

I've often wondered why there aren't more in house cases. Would you mind sharing what you found difficult? Do you have a five axis machine? 4 axis machine. All of it! Had to learn it all from scratch, with no help other than YouTube. Have a busy family life at the same time and work shift work. So ...

Re: Aegir is still here
Good to hear from you Todd. Let me know if you have DLC buckle for my DLC CD1. I had one done here in Australia. The CSIRO is a government department and just so happened they are the only people in the country who do DLC. Sent them two buckles and waited as long as you would expect a government de...

Aegir is still here
Since I have been quiet on the watch front for quite some time, I thought a quick note here as a little update is on the cards. The costs of producing watches have been hard with the Australian dollar and inconsistent sales. As many of you know, I have a CNC machine and was working to produce the ca...

Re: JSAR Bezel ?
Has anyone ever removed the bezel on a JSAR? I sold one to a guy that is saying that the bezel isn’t working properly. I’m skeptical because I’ve never had an issue with it before, but I guess it’s possible. Looking online it appears to be a wire and spring mechanism, but I was curious if anyone ha...

Re: Worn and Wound, first US Made Nato maybe?
Props for USA made, but fail for a $42 price tag. I'm not paying that for a Nato. Thus the problem with made in the US. We don't want to work for free. I try to buy US made wherever possible, but I definitely pay a premium. Just as an example I have 3 pairs of New Balance made in USA running shoes,...

It isn't the person who has one micro brand homage watch that grates me that much. It is the person who has a collection full of micro brand homage watches. It is the difference between the guy who has one Tiffany song in his playlist because its a catchy tune and makes him smile versus the guy who...

Re: IWC Tribute to Mark XI - It's Official
I think Marcello C was one of the first micro brands to use the SW's. I owned some that were almost 10 years old with Sellita's in them and they ran excellent. I honestly have yet to have a problem with one of them. ETA is a different story though. The SW-300-1 cost me over $300 USD each, closer to...

Re: Sea King microbrand, yes another one.
Apart from the design aspect That watch in the OP, if they use a Sellita 200 then it sounds like good value. I do not know exactly what the SW200 costs, but for the SW300 I paid on the higher side of $300 USD each, so assume they are a fairly similar cost. Now I dont know their other costs, but even...

Someone tell them they have the strap on backwards. Hey wasn't this done in another review also where the strap was backwards?
