Re: Masters of the air
Last week's episode had something about the red tails, about Alexander Hamilton who got shot down over France and became a POW. I met him once the real one, he was a specker at a VFW dinner my boss invited me to. When he got shot down think it might have been around D-Day their mission in P-51 musta...

Re: Anybody know something about this OLD Omega?
A photo of the movement might help. you can tell jewel count the model and from the serial number when it was made. There might be a serial number look up site where you can learn about it just by putting the serial number in. https://www.emmywatch.com/db/serial/omega/ https://watchexchangelondon.co...

Has cool vintage vibes. Congrats and some afraid of 37mm watches try it and you will discover it's not bad. A lot of my vintage is that size.

Well back from service. New correct crystal and crown and movement service. Maybe 800 in it and Hodinkee sold one for 2700.00 deals can still be had but not on Hodinkee.

Re: Omega RAF '53 Question
Here are photos of mine the one you posted has a better dial and case than mine. Make sure the dohicky a metal ring that goes inside the case back is there they are sometimes missing. But there a guy who made copies of that metal ring if missing keeps the movement from moving around. Omega used this...

Re: Hamilton’s new Ventura Dune watches
When I use to go to a NAWCC mart in the Bay Area there was a seller there that always had a few Ventura for sell. Always wished I bought one from him they are real nice looking watches in the flesh when you see one. Much better looking than these modern remakes. But the 505 electric movements can co...

Re: Seiko 6105
Here is mine. Got it for 450 off eBay in the old days needed work but even with that cheaper than today. The locking crown still works.
There was an unmolested one on the MWR PX that sold for 1280 AUS dollars with the US exchange rate would have been a great deal.

Re: Just got the itch for for another vintage diver
Very cool! Does the crown screw down? No, it doesn't the old school O -ring in the crown set up. It had no C on crown so a replacement. Saw these replacement Caravelle waterproof diver crowns on eBay so bought them with the new crystal and new crowns installed when I have this watch service should ...
