Re: Headed to Napa Valley

Have a great time. I lived in Yountville in the 1970’s not far from Napa when in the CCC’s so a lot of changed since I lived there. I remember they started doing this wine train in the Napa valley so you can test out wine on a train going through Napa before I moved out of California mite be worth c...

Re: e transfers???

This would not be a PayPal transaction. He was the one who mentioned e-transfer. I definitely can see how the buyer has the higher risk in this transaction. I’ll ask him if he would consider money order. Money orders are counterfeited all the time, just like checks. It seems you are looking for ris...

Re: e transfers???

Have him pay with a money order after the money order is cleared and the money is good send him the watch. Another sure way but old fashioned if he don't like it he can keep looking for this watch from another seller. Just a idea and he is the only one that has to trust you and you don't have to wor...

Love that. I almost traded my golden tuna for the re-issue. I assume yours is the genuine article. The offset crown side is just so funky it's charming. I'll have to get one someday.
Thanks. And yes the real McCoy.

The original vintage Omega railmaster had the same case and movement design only difference dial and hands. And this is cheaper than a vintage railmaster.

Re: Finally Took the Plunge on Vintage

Love it. What do these go for and are they serviceable? I imagine so if it's a basic movement under the hood. The lugs appear longer so I imagine it has a bit more presence than the 36Exp which worked quite well on my 7.5" wrist. Most watchmakers can service them. When I first got mine I dropped it...

Re: Your Worst Sales Decision

I have some big ones (Patek 5980, 5726, 5164), but they're mostly around the hype pieces. Doesn't bother me too much. Can't predict the future, so why sweat it? You also sold a Steve McQueen Rolex those have really shot up in price lately I really liked that one was great to see that one in person.

A little history lession

Dan Henry did a blog on deck watch history kind of tells you in a way why I collect a few. There is a Ulysse Nardin one in the article it came after the model I have. A good read. In that article he does says there are under looked by collectors and can be had under 4000 and since there under looked...

Re: A $6k Helson ???

I can see one of these come up for sell 20-60 years from now and since it’s a no name watch co no one remembers at the time they are buying it to melt the case for the metal content for $$ and throwing away the movement. Kind of what they do to pocket watches today but funny thing even the Rolex nam...
