Re: Uncle Seiko Tropic Rubber Strap

Wanted to try one of these. Most remake vintage style rubber straps like the waffle strap I tried in the past were hard as rock and hurt my wrist. Saw this thread looked it up and the web site said they were made different than the old ones were they were softer. Instead of getting a uncles waffle s...

Re: Vintage itch... scratched.

Here is a interesting read on the older Longines conquest it had a more different medallion back in the form of a fish. There both cool watches the slightly newer one with date and older one with out date not many years apart.

Re: Vintage itch... scratched.

I love vintage longines - so much richer designs than the modern incarnation. I think that statement holds true for many/most manufacturers, although I have to give props to Longines for their Heritage collection, which I think includes some really beautiful vintage-inspired watches at great prices...

Re: Vintage itch... scratched.

Nice watch. Vintage watch collecting can get out of hand fast. My last vintage dress watch I picked up and it was my birth year with box and papers. And a lot of nice vintage watches can still be had for under a 1000 bucks on brand names cheaper than new ones if you go on the hunt took me a year to ...

Re: Compressor crowns

Well Terry did you ever get that Compressor repaired ? And the price not bad on those crowns. I Use to own a Wittnauer compressor sold it before the prices shot up and has doubled in price. On my vintage Glycine airman it has a cross hatch crown. Here is a interesting article on compressor watches. ...

Re: New to me. Glycine Combat 6

I like these Glycine field watches. I've been thinking about getting the Combat 7 because it's smaller, at 41mm, and would be a better fit for my wrist size. https://www.amazon.com/Glycine-Combat-Vintage-Automatic-GL0238/dp/B07G4D25ZY Ever thought of getting one of there originals from there heyday...
