Re: Quick release spring bars, be careful

JLC has been using these on a lot of their new watches, which seems kinda weird to me. Renders an extremely expensive Camille Fournet strap unwearable if that thing breaks. So lame.

Well shit, that’s super interesting. News of its improved reliability puts it back in the running for me, just didn’t realize this had already happened.

Re: ooooh I like this 3 hand IWC AT

Looks good. I think that’s the model that Jason Heaton took diving and it flooded. It was this one Edit: actually, we assume the Polaris leaked but as I recall that wasn’t confirmed. I believe the alarm crown froze and then broke. Jason suspected some seawater got it and corroded the works. I imagi...

Re: ooooh I like this 3 hand IWC AT

i was curious about my new AT as neither pusher is screw down but the crown is. Was just serviced by IWC so i assume the seals etc are all brand new. Im a bit gun-shy of getting any watch in the water without screw down pushers. Dunno if it's added peace of mind, and granted, I never tested this th...

Re: Shogun vs Pelagos

Owned both for a short while, though never understood why. Thought I'd get a Shogun to spare the Pelagos from hard wear, but I never really warmed up to it. The Pelagos is simply a fantastic watch with a lot of subtly excellent details, mine's been stupidly accurate for the 5 or so years I've owned ...

Price hike notwithstanding, I've always loved the quirky Overseas, but I can't unsee the over-application of the Maltese cross on the current gen. http://tattooviewer.com/Content/Images/cross/28537p.jpg Guess I have the nineties and its obsession with totems in the form of shitty tattoos and all-ove...

On second glance, pretty ballsy to even put the name "chronoscope" on it. Nuke this shit from orbit.

two-tone and all yellow gold dominate at our local country club  i dig rose gold more than yellow gold, and while not two-tone, i yearn to "lease" the yachtmaster with the murdered out bezel on rubber someday... https://i.imgur.com/rgirJGQ.jpg Yellow gold feels crass for some reason, but coul...

Re: despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

Not even sure it's enough to qualify as "two-tone," but I love the gold accents on this one. Maybe that's what was so appealing about the Tunas – it was a lot more subtle, and was largely confined to bezel and crown, which yielded a pretty sweet effect. https://www.omegawatches.com/media/catalog/pro...

despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

...feel like I'm slowly warming to it, but literally never see enough modern examples on the wild or in the forums to call it a 'trend.' Bullshit, or do people actually like these?

(Couple favorites of mine)

Dig the hell outta that. Somebody had one of the old ones at a GTG a few months back (chrome-plated or some shit – was showing some really neat wear) and was super impressed. Cool old chrono definitely worthy of another shot.

Genuine question: is this strategy going to hurt Rolex long-term, or will it do little more than irritate watch nerds on the forums short-term?

Re: any datejust owners here?

What about the newer black faced OP? Thought about the white-dialed one actually, but the new OP feels too much like you're just paying for a Rolex in name only, as there's nothing particularly special about the case, dial, or movement (hell, it's still running the older 3132) – and at that price p...
