Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th

I realize this isn’t on topic, but does anyone know the general availability of the blue and black BB58s? Is this something that I could typically call around and find locally or is it the same basic deal as Rolex now? It’s a short wait at worst here in HK and back in Italy I got mine walking into ...

This was a terrific piece, no wonder it sold out in a flash.
Congrats again!

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...

For me, if you’ve wanted a 36mm explorer-style watch without the old stamped bracelet, you’ve always had the option of the 116000, which has been underpriced forever. My wife has had this one for 7+ years, and it’s still within the same realm in terms of pricing. (Pictures with the 39mm Explorer) h...

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...

Looking at both pics, the 114270 does look nicer to me.

What do you think is the best source to avoid getting scammed? hqmilton?

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...

I sort of want the new Explorer, but I've never had any luck actually buying a Rolex from my local ADs, and I refuse to pay gray market prices, so I guess I'll most likely never get one. Your collection is great BTW. I think they will get more available eventually, I’m not in a rush. Thanks for the...

Heck, most of the exec's I know are wearing Apple watches now Yes but that’s because they’re sad people with no taste :D I find myself in a great place with my collection: 14060M 16570 BB58 Blue Nomos Club Speedy Reduced Sinn 556i Gshock 5610 I have all bases covered (x2 for the dive watch) with wa...

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...

Yeah most of them wouldn’t put me on a waitlist, the rest outright lied to me and said they wouldn’t get any stock until September (in Causeway Bay HK... sure). No big deal, I’ll try again in a couple months. I mean I really would love a 36mm Explorer but it’s not like I’m going to lose sleep or pay...

Oh and obviously most of the ADs were total assholes.
I had forgotten the beauty of the Rolex buying experience.

Supposed new Rolex line up...

I checked into 5 Rolex ADs in downtown HK + a couple contacts. Zero availability of the 36mm Explorer in SS but I managed to see a TT.
It sucks as much as in the pictures.
I guess I just saved 6 grand.

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th

Doing more reading, there are some additional changes to the Exp II. The hands on the black dial are now fully SS instead of partially blacked out. The hands and markers on the white dial are matte black instead of gloss. Case shape does look a bit slimmer and the dial looks a little smaller, but t...

Oh god no Jacob.
The only TT that works for me is a 36mm DJ. (To each his own of course)

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th

I’m trying to get the Explorer I in its correct size and in SS obviously. The Tudor Chrono in 41mm looks great but we should see a side pic, I’m afraid they used the slab case which would ruin it. The Explorer II is basically unchanged from the prior model IIRC, so still significantly worse than the...

Re: Supposed new Rolex line up...

The TT 36mm is a piece of hot manure. I’ve pinged my AD in Italy for the 36mm SS Explorer. If it’s doable, it’s mine. Worst case scenario I’ll start hitting the ADs here in HK, there’s like a million Rolex official shops so I think sooner or later I’ll get one. It’s exactly the watch I wanted plus I...

Re: Omega Tresor small seconds

I’m guessing that’s because they make the movements thinking about the larger version so it screws up the smaller ones?
Kinda like the reverse of the IWC mark-whatever, that clearly have the date window in a terrible position since they lazily made the watch bigger without updating the movement also.

Omega Tresor small seconds

Yes I’m looking into a 36mm DJ, and I’d also like a correct size Explorer I. I’m not in a hurry because I don’t want to sell anything I own now, so any addition would mean a significant outflow of money so basically I need to find either a good one at a reasonable price or a good deal. Omegas don’t ...

Omega Tresor small seconds

I have 6.75 wrists and feel that the right size for a diver is the 14060, so by consequence my ideal all-dial watch is somewhere around 36mm. I loved the GS quartz (37mm), I found the Citizen Chronomaster to be a bit too big at 38mm but still barely manageable. The current Explorer I in 39 mm I alre...

Looks beautiful!
But is it too big and too thick like most Omegas?
Edit: of course they’re too big: 40mm is way too large for a dressy, all-dial watch like these

Re: Tudor Releases New Watches April 7th

15mm thick on a sub-40mm watch is thick. we've had a movement toward the vintage, skindiver style thinner watches over the past 5-10 years and omega has ignored that. tudor has not. While not excessively thick by modern standards, even my 42x14.2mm PO2500 is what I'd consider "chunky." The 12mm 140...
