Re: Summer beater?

Even if I am a fatass, I usually have fairly active vacations with many possibilities to inflict pain to my watches. Scuba diving for example is a great way to ding your watch by hitting the cylinders while putting them on, scratching it on a rock, etc. I am completely unafraid to bring watches unde...

Re: Summer beater?

I’ll alternate between the SKX009 and the g-shock depending on how much abuse I predict they will take.
I also have an incoming that I’ll use for the good days when I know it’ll be “safe”

Apparently a re edition of that exact watch is the next Seiko luxury LE, in case you’re interested.

It’s too bad the Sumo looks cartoonishly gigantic on my wrist, because it’s a great looking watch.

Thanks for your kind words  My favorite combo for this one. Bracelet is very nice, but it just doesn't look quite right, even fully brushed. I agree, every time I saw that model on a bracelet, it looked like something was slightly off. It looks great on straps, and I really like the discreet...

Re: Sébastien Muller, owner of Brellum Watches

Welcome Sébastien, and congrats on your designs, they truly are classy and timeless. Two quick comments: I can understand those who find the new, color matching, date cool but unpractical: it’s almost invisible. I also personally don’t like the thickness, as I vastly prefer thin watches. Question: i...

Re: Anyone sell on chrono24 versus eBay?

Lol good to know. It seems that very typically the prices on there are very inflated but then sometimes you'll find someone who's actually at the real going pre-owned price. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk It depends. It’s by far the best avenue to get the best prices on Nomos and Sinn, becaus...

Re: See what that extra money gets you

Really impressive, thanks for sharing!
It has reinforced my idea that anything above $5-8k is too far beyond what I need/want, but at least now I very clearly see the why behind some prices.
It kinda escaped me before.

Re: Wempe NYC appointments

They are great, I walked in many times and they were always welcoming. I am the kind of person who immediately says “I’m only looking around” so I don’t waste their time, but still they treated me very well regardless. One time, I walked in to have a bracelet sized (screw pins) for my GS, expecting ...

Re: 126600

Mhhhh. partially unrelated, but I personally hate the "non transferable warranty" policy. I find it completely BS, why shouldn't the warranty be valid if i bought second hand? #fakenews It is transferable. It just can't pass through a reseller before entering the hands of the first customer, which ...

Re: 126600

This is on the Rolex radar - RSC NY is requiring an original purchase receipt for warranty work with a non-USA stamped warranty card. I'm sure Dallas and BH aren't far behind. That's good. Re: Kobold article on Time Zone

So what happened with Mk2 watches? I remember some of their Gilt ones looked nice but didn’t get the excitement and pricing over sub clones that didn’t look all that special. Now it has converted in a sort of Ponzi scheme. They basically collect payments, then deliver a few watches years later. Yea...
