Re: For Ben RIP AVICII

It’s sad that he died, but I had literally never heard his name until he was dead. I am old, though. Same for me. In hindsight, I can understand the respect for him. I grew up mostly on techno and metal. The only mixes of techno and metal I can think of are Alec Empire, Ministry and Atari Teenage R...

Funny how deep blue seems to be able to do a better color Pepsi ceramic than Rolex.

Re: New release by Helson. I don't quite get the point/

Am I crazy or is longines stacking up really well against Tudor in the price/quality/style department these days? In the Swatch group jierarchy, I always saw Longines as a step above Mido/Hamilton, but well below Omega. I agree. In my personal "Ryeguy hierarchy of horological achievement" the use o...

New release by Helson. I don't quite get the point/

Totally agree with ryeguy Copy of an old, out of production watch: lame but ultimately ok (I’ve owned many of these lame watches, they never stick) Copy of a currently available watch that costs 100x the original: very lame and sad but ultimately still ok (never owned one of these, ie nautilus copy)...

Reality is both the Longines re edition and this Helson suck (obviously, the helson sucks more)
The lugs only work if you have Ed’s or Art’s wrists as they are stupid long for most people.

If he's advertising it like so, it is unfortunately.
He may be trying to benefit from your credibility, since he's lost his.

New Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III Limited Edition

I like this one a lot. Great size, great color, great cause.
I strangely don't mind the logo being "off balance", it gives the watch a little asymmetrical touch that kinda works.

Only thing I would change is I would make it no date.

That sucks.
Seen the number of watches I've flipped in my life, it is bound to happen one day or another.

Sorry to hear, but glad it's a quick fix

Crown looks ok to me, no drilled Lucy's though?
The case looks like a bigger seiko SNK case.
Too bad it's 41mm, I like this one.

Re: New Hamilton Khaki Field Reissue

I think overall it’s a nice watch.
The lugs have a bad design though, and I never liked the fake aged lume.

This said, there are many many watches that cost twenty times as much that suck twenty times as much.

It’s ok to be forgiving when a watch is cheap.

Re: Rogue Echo Bike

I agree Most Italians are in shape and live long lives: we rarely exercise, we just walk everywhere and eat healthy. What personally killed me was that I went from walking to work (so around 45 mins per day just to get t and back from work) plus every other day doing some cycling, to driving to work...
