Re: WatchRecon And WUS

Are they charging for sales posts now as well? Doesn't look like it, not at the moment anyway. I think if they did that the forum would die in a matter of months. What I would do if I were them I would give an “allowance” of say two/three sales posts per month, and charge a fee after that. So that ...

Re: New Tudor coming

The BB58 is setting a longevity record for me, two years of near daily wear, which for me means it's a keeper. I like the new blue one but it wouldn't make sense for me to have both in my tiny collection. Some watches just work. The Sinn 556i is, somewhat surprisingly, getting most of my wrist time...

Re: New Ares Mission Timer Rubber Strap

Interesting that it says it’s “guaranteed for life”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of any strap with that kind of guarantee. If that’s true $140 is a relative bargain. How many thick rubber straps have you ever broken in your life? It’s a zero for me. $140 for a rubber strap (possibly made by bonet...

Re: I’m digging the new black alpinist...

The problem with seiko is that they so far have been happy to raise their prices by a lot, without delivering the improvements that would be expected at that price level. Inconsistent timekeeping on an iso rated diver at $130 (skx009)? I’m good with that. Same with a well executed watch for $350 (ol...

Re: Endatto Watch

A couple mm less would have been better not only for the watch style, but would have also helped get the date window in a better position.

$1200 during Covid 19 seems a bit of a reach.

Re: One more project Mariana Mil Sub

That’s very cool.
I’d be all-in for a “premium” version of this, made by modding a Ginault with a more vintage design dial like this one here.

But who am I kidding I’d probably like this one too a lot if it were an accurate specimen (I just came to hate inaccurate watches)

The New Longines Spirit Collection

The chrono would look better without a date IMO.
I also imagine the movement is based on the 7750 so it may be too thick?
Still a great design, they really have a great vintage catalogue to draw from

Re: New G Shock Frogman GWF-A1000 Full Analog Display, Bluetooth

I have wished for an analog Frogman as a back-up dive timer for a long time, as Casio digital readouts are too small. They finally do it and then put dual-time, what looks like a 24hr indicator, and 'tide' sub-dials on it? Surely elapsed dive time and max depth are just a little more relevant in a ...

Ohhhh I'm excited. Don't want to get my hopes up too much though, expectations are a bitch sometimes. Everybody was so ecstatic about Inception, when I saw it it was a massive disappointment for me. New G Shock Frogman GWF-A1000 Full Analog Display, Bluetooth

I don’t know. I think if you go to Japan post covid you’d see plenty of state of the art tech. I do know :) I visit(ed) japan for work minimum five times per year and know the Honshu island pretty well. Japan is surprisingly behind in terms of tech in many areas. Some examples include spotty WiFi i...

So it has a Bluetooth smartphone link. Very useful when underwater.
Genius.
Casio making a gigantic, super expensive watch that is 10 years behind in terms of technology.

It’s sad to see how japan is becoming like Italy, a country mostly living in the past and incapable of innovating.
