Lugs look thin to me. If it's for you go for it. But to me it seems to be just a tad high.

My opinion, go out and spend some decent money on a good pair of wingtips. Something like AE's would be stretching the budget a little I know, but it's worth it and you have a shoe you could easily wear with jeans as well. How about input from the strap makers here? Stewart, Drew, Art, Justyn? Is Chromexcel better than vegetable tanned? IMO I would go with Veg Tanned over Chromexcel.
