Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!

Normally i am a big Seko fanboy. but, after buying a SBDX009 limited Edition Landmaster i have problems with Seiko and Le´s. Why? The tube is threaded. Mailing for 3 weeks with Seiko JP and they just told me no parts available and no chance to repair it. That is the difference to a really big playe...

Re: Seiko 6159 reissue!!!!

It looks great. Money no object it would be mine but finding a SBDX012 again would be my choice at half the price.

Re: Kinda Cool Seiko 5 Turtle...sorry Scotty!

The five badge doesn’t really bother me. I recently bought an SRP731K1 for $125 and it’s a ton of watch for the money with a fantastic blue dial, but I sold it to a friend for what it’s worth. NOW the Seiko 5 badge on a vintage SpeedTimer is totally different imho... Like on an all original 6138 Kak...

Really impressive, thanks for sharing!
It has reinforced my idea that anything above $5-8k is too far beyond what I need/want, but at least now I very clearly see the why behind some prices.
It kinda escaped me before.
Great way of putting it.

I didn’t think so. I actually put my speedy on after watching the video. Bargain watch.

I've purchased $500-700 custom Keith Brown grips before ever considering a gun. Twice.

Let both guns come to me over time which was a fun way of keeping the hunt alive.

Re: Who needs Fricker?

Cool background. Any chance we know your work? I used to be an amateur knife maker using mostly stock removal methods and dabbled in my own heat treat for awhile. Sold my entire shop back when I was laid-off in 2009 and never got back into it, but still have a rudimentary interest in metallurgy myse...

Re: Who needs Fricker?

Sean, So what exact method does Fricker's suppliers use? Cast forging perhaps? I suspect you know a bit about this subject as you registered to post this... As a rule, assuming you intend to stick around, an intro thread with naked pics of your significant other are encouraged, but not required. I a...

Re: Who needs Fricker?

Well maybe this is where certain SOF-backed brands failed. Yes, back in the day Fricker would be the ultimate go-to, but now with a digital CNC schematic, it seems as if anyone could produce the same results. We've got enough LEO and steely-eyed veterans here to market a S&W case. How cool wo...

Who needs Fricker?

Don't want to read too much into it but I wonder if Smith and Wesson could crank out a few forged or MIM cases? If we all put out brains and wallets together we can build a Scandium version of Project 300 still many years before Yao and have 50% more of its components made outside of China. ht...

Gold Ti-Nitride Darth LE? The S23626J1

I mentioned wanting this very watch a couple times here in the last two years... A 7c46 based tuna in Ti-Nitride.

Not sure how I'm going to fulfill this one without doing something really stupid if it's true. :crybaby:

Re: What's the current state of IWC service?

Still kind of unclear as to what you are asking... Really just a different way of presenting a "talk me out of a XXXX" thread. I had an MBII and loved it, but had some serious problems which were addressed by the AD's watchmaker, but without success, and I never did give the mothership a worthwhile...

Re: What's the current state of IWC service?

IWC to Bremont... not on my account. At least IWC has some real history. True. But it's sort of a wash for me. Being a true aviation fan since a toddler, and coming from true English decent, I like to prospect of supporting Bremont, and their perceived CS, having never dealt with IWC yet. Also,havi...

What's the current state of IWC service?

Been awhile since I delved into the longevity of IWC and overall service of my MK. XVIII and their CS, but it seems I have the bug for something else in a Bremont flavor, and may have let all those Jacob posts get to me in order justify getting back an MBII. So good, bad, ugly for IWC? Although I di...
