Re: Radium Girls

Read about this years ago.

Some of the things they did and contraptions they had back then were crazy.

Makes me wonder if years from now future generations will think the same about our devices.

Re: 1680 Red Sub

Had a 16750 birth year I foolishly sold. Got it for something like $3500 without bracelet a mere 9 years ago. :banghead: I occasionally search for an ‘81 speedmaster but I have never found one... I wonder if omega even made any that year as it was during the quartz craze? See a lot of ‘80 and ‘82. N...

Re: Omega 'Big Blue'

Is it a joke? I remember when shopgoodwill was decent for finding good vintage Seiko stuff. Now it’s just overcrowded with makers and people wanting to flip. Internet has literally ruined everything. I haven’t even bothered in the last few years. Long gone are the days when goodwill wasn’t a corpora...

Re: There seems to be an issue with Rolex's supplys

Family owned AD recently shuttered store #3 of 3 in Sacramento. Now only their original store is open as they closed store #2 a couple years ago. They still have their AD status at the original store. Devon’s in Stockton had a decent selection. ExpII, 1ea Exp1, Milgauss, and a bunch of precious meta...

Re: Rally Diver

Klein has been backlogged for awhile. I reached out to him years ago and he told me I could wait, but was still nice enough to answer some questions regarding my 6139, and which parts to secure on eBay, after I declined the wait period. I ended-up using another maker out of SoCal for two 6139s when...

The subdial picture sucks, but I’m sure some will like it. Exactly. Enough with the space stuff already. We get it. 1st watch worn on the moon. Disagree. I like the space stuff and dislike the cheezy cartoon stuff. I’ll admit the LEs have gotten way out of hand. As a big space fan I think they coul...

I wonder if local LEO would knock on his door? Of course you need the address for that.

I’ve had LEO do just that when a custom knife maker tried to walk-off with my funds. Scared him enough to reach out and refund my money. Turns out the dude liquidated his shop due to a nasty divorce.

Eric, great story by the way ! :) That must be so fun really ! Never been to an air show before. Would be incredible I bet. ..Just seeing videos amazes Gotta try for one someday. Usually involves suncreen, lawn chairs, an interest in jet noise, and being situationally aware as possible as accidents...

If you have the land build one. My father used to do these as weekend jobs back when I was a kid out of masonry. My close friend has one and we fire it up this time of year. Find a nearby orchard and stockpile/cure some wood if they're selling. 5gal tank with a propane torch starts that fire in a c...

I like this one! Great LPP chrono alternative. I'm an absolute sucker for air shows, though... Volunteered once years ago wearing a division hat in shorts and Birkenstocks getting adults and kids into a parachute harness just outside the C17 display. Adults I took seriously after reading them being ...

Re: New no date GS divers

It's been awhile since I researched Seiko USA's capabilities... Can they swap the GS battery and pressure test? Seiko’s Service Center in Mahwah did warranty service on my GS Spring Drive diver (replaced scratched crystal, serviced movement), all at no cost. Scratched crystal? Was it sap...

Re: New no date GS divers

Honestly, I don’t understand how Seiko doesn’t go out of business. I guess they are selling enough Tunas and NAFTs. And tens of thousands of strip mall watches in the $100-300 range across the world. I bet this wears well with the samuari-style case but if I'm getting a GS quartz it would b...

Haven’t seen one in the flesh but they look really sharp and modern to me. Bulovas 262 movement has proven to be quite accurate. Know two pals with the Apollo 15 and they claim near haq accuracy. I like where bulova has been trending recently but wish the Apollo 15 was smaller lug-to-lug (hence why ...

Re: Watching modding, and now... car modding

I used to mod all sorts of friends Subarus and my last Subaru was a ‘05 STi with about 430hp to all four wheels on the dyno. I loved that vehicle and could eat most cars for breakfast on the track. I still find myself turning my head when I hear that throaty-sounding Subaru boxer engine as there’s n...

I think it wears well enough for what the Sumo is and certainly not small on your wrist given that fact, but I can see the concern with someone that might not be used to the overall size. I'd go with option 1 as I love curry and beer, too. In all honesty the doubt is already in your head a...
