Re: Watch engraving

I’d love to have one of the southeast Asian engraved silver bracelets for my GMT. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180526/b2bdbc903f2ae826c34bd2acff0aa181.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180526/e6230b5574d50a79155c65170cf4de72.jpg there was a guy on WUS a few years back who was still makin...

Re: Watch engraving

Not my taste but proof of what I was trying to say. Cool how he thought of a theme and made the entire watch his canvas (almost like a tattoo) without worry about it being monotonous. I mean if you're going to engrave you might as well go big seeing how you're likely going to get stuck with the watch.

Re: Watch engraving

I think they look cool but as a engraved gun sorta guy, I prefer multiple components to an engraved design rather than just repetitive scroll work. Tons of classic examples out there all the way to cattle brand engraved Colt SAAs. Good examples HERE Problem is there's such little real estate on the ...

Re: Rolex AD event - 2018 Basel content

Are those photos of the GMT the same watch? The first few photos where the watch is a bit in shadow look really good. The photo where the watch is in the direct light looks - dare I say - garish. If you had said it was a Steinhart I would've believed you. I like the bracelet though. I agree with bo...

Re: Responsibility

Graham clearly states it was a working watch. So the answer is no once he admitted to taking it apart.

Who took it apart, exactly? If it was a maker then the buyer should be asking him. You're absolved.

Re: Black Bay GMT, 58, S&G & Tudor 1926 First Impressions

58 on bracelet for me, absolutely love it. I would change the crown (as mentioned) to just screw all the way, but its not an issue for me. That size, from brand with a lot of history and with an inhouse movement with a great power reserve... it's a steal. I bet they do a blue dial in the next year ...

Re: Carbs & Coffee - Car Meet Photos

Looks like fun. My buddy is well known around these parts in the VW scene having been apart of it for 25yrs the area and having been featured twice in local VW magazines. If you're ever in these parts we'll have to all connect for a beer. He's had a lot of bugs and buses come and go and is currently...

Great videos.

Waiting for the one where they focus on the middle class watch enthusiast and then cut prices accordingly.

Certainly not for me.

Unless there’s a “build your watch” kiosk at your nearby Whole Foods im not sure how it will gain any traction. On the plus side it would be the cheapest thing going at Whole Foods

Re: Orange Samurai back from Duarte...

It looks wonderful! Even better that is uses OEM parts. COngrats on it. That’s what I eventually wanted. I did buy a fully lumed ceramic insert for this build just to try, but decided the OEM black and orange insert suited the build better. So what I’m left with is SS bezel, crown, a srpb55 black a...

I like.

What is different about the bezel?
It's a SRPB55 Bezel with the SRPC07 orange/black insert.
I had to google that stuff to understand. Black bezel and crown, plus sapphire. The rest is stock. Correct?
Correct.

Orange Samurai back from Duarte...

…and in about a week. SRPC07 with SRPB55 Bezel (insert swap) and Crown procured from Ebay. Asked he install a domed sapphire crystal. Watch is running tits-on the second so no adjustment needed. Got lucky… Well, until the movement potentially acts-up in one form or another. I think it turned out qui...

Where to find XL Orange bezel 2500/8500?

Trying to find one for a friend who may be interested. My question is would you ever consider a new XL from Joma or similar? I'd imagine they're new, right? Wondering if it would be smart to steer him in this direction or not for the $875 average premium over recent ones on recon. I mean service his...
