Re: Yobokies shroud video on IG

Love Harold’s stuff but my guess is this will look like sh!t after a couple door frame encounters.

Could be worthwhile for the SS version assuming someone wants that 300m 7c46 look.

Re: Laco's Atlantik

Back during my early flieger days I took a small interest in Laco because they were one of the originals. I remember the availability of their models being confusing, and at the time, would have preferred any Archimedes flieger for their aesthetics even though they weren't an original WWII label. Pl...

Their brand name is so bad they used hieroglyphic writing for its logo? Makes no sense in that they used the brand name in the first place unless they were depending on negative publicity.

Something about gold edges and a black dial just feels right. https://production-fratellowatches.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Seiko-Prospex-1978-S23626J1.001.jpg Have a 1000m Golden tuna which is my only TT watch currently. Re: despite what the watch industry says is trendy, does anyone actually own/like two-tone?

I had a 116613LB sunburst and it was amazing. Wish I still owned it but it was too much watch

In my mere six months of careful ownership the PCLs looked like my milgauss after two years.

Smarter in that there's a 3719 in the sales forum that mark time?

Re: 16610LV NOS on davidSW, are people on drugs?

Genuine question: is this strategy going to hurt Rolex long-term, or will it do little more than irritate watch nerds on the forums short-term? As soon as Rolex eradicates AD's who sell to DavidSW and the likes instead of directly to people as they're supposed to, Rolex will open back up. I may be ...

Re: Been thinking of finally trying a Pelagos

2-liner is no doubt the best but I don't mind the 5 liner knowing how it would look in the flesh vs. a wrist shot, and having owned my fair share of sports Rolex with numerous lines, to include the SD4K and 16710 before the getting was good. :banghead: I think I'll wait a little bit to see what the ...

Re: Swatch Group Leaving Basel

There’s some great insider comments on the hodinkee site by one lady who used to be in the business. A much different beast in terms of trade shows im used to. Seems omega might be comfortable in the formula they’ve fine-tuned while Rolex continues to demand retailers buy two Daytonas for every 20ea...

Re: Swatch Group Leaving Basel

Trade shows for many industries are getting to be untenable, mainly because of lower attendance of buyers. They're expensive to go to and retailers have to take time away from their businesses. I've been to many food shows at Moscone Center and National Restaurant Assc., Chicago. Been with a group ...

Re: Swatch Group Leaving Basel

Me thinks the big online reviewers wallets will be getting fatter. Yeah, but the guys who do the on-site reporting must be bummed that their annual free trip to Switzerland is getting canned ;) I don't think Basel will be gone next year, but possibly the year after. They'll be forced to renegotiate...

Re: Swatch Group Leaving Basel

Crazy to think there was a return on that 50mil before. That's ridiculous money right there in any venue but more importantly where there's nothing to be bought. Me thinks the big online reviewers wallets will be getting fatter. Will be interesting to see how they pitch the Planet Ocean Dennis Rodma...

Re: Been thinking of finally trying a Pelagos

I wore a black two liner nearly every day for a year. I feel like if it was a hair thinner it would be the perfect watch. Been wearing the XVIII for nearly three years in rotation with it getting the most time and I really think it is the perfect watch. It's got dings and a couple rubs but for the ...

50 mil is a lot for a single display.

Wonder where the marketing dollars will move to.

Hopefully not pop-up ads and celeb tie-ins with Ed Sheeran and Macklemore.
Hopefully R&D for thinner movements.

Re: Been thinking of finally trying a Pelagos

I'm certainly not against the black. Can't go wrong with it vs. the blue. Not a fan of the T1 or T2 design but love the blue. Wish it was the blue used for Tudor. Now I just have to push myself enough to list the IWC. Again. Ed, My collection after selling the XVIII would be: Dornbluth 99.1 (silver,...

Been thinking of finally trying a Pelagos

I love my IWC XVIII but feel it may be time for a change and selling it would put me into Tudor budget. I’ve only ever handled a Pelagos once and it was for a couple minutes at port on a cruise. It was a 2-liner and all I remember was how cool it was. That being said I kinda like the new in-house ve...

Re: 2020 Tokyo Olympic Speedys

I love Speedmasters, but Omega is really watering down its best watch. Didn't you just reserve the Ultraman? Too bad for those Gemini IV and Apollo XI 35th owners. Makes me wonder about sinking money into another Speedmaster LE. True. I'd buy this set if I were a baller as I love all of them....

The geek is strong with this reference.

Makes perfect sense now. Like I said, although we can virtually guarantee an Apollo 11th 50th, Omega needs another geek genre moving forward.
