I have a hunch you'd end up with a "distressed" ion-plated surface, which might look cool. I doubt the bead blasting will cleanly remove the ion plating. Go for it!
Ala Gruppo Gamma Vanguard vintage aged steel. Also same on one of the newer metal G’s. A very cool PVD look.

Re: New Citizen Promaster Auto Diver and Marine Super Titanium L.E.'s

I have to say the date wheel on the Promaster I had of this edition sucked. The number/date lines were so thin I could not see them at all. And it being on a black background it looked great in pics but not for my old eyes. Hell the crown operation felt like a sandy-mangina. That crown feel is why ...

Shogun modded with sapphire crystal on my 6.75" wrist. Looking at this old pic I’m not really sure why I didn’t like the bezel insert. Oh well. New owner is enjoying it. Image

Re: Car Spotting

I totally agree. I’d really like a Subaru WRX STi. It would be perfect for my 3 mile commute - fun to drive, sporty, awd for the winter. Every time I almost buy one, I think back to how pissed I was to find my civic hit and then decide against it. Finding a nice new car hit would probably give me a...

Re: impressive digital sleuthing around ginault drama from WUS

Yeah - scary stuff indeed My point was not that dudes that buy rep watches are more likely now to buy them then they were a few years ago. My point was that these “reputable” homage producers are more likely to get the business now from us non-ballers then they would have back in the day due to the...

Re: Huge Seikos

The SPB077 And SPB079 wear smaller than their specs would suggest. They wear smaller than the turtles imo. I'd also give a sumo a try if you haven't. The case curves in such a way that it wears really well. I find both more comfortable to wear than turtles or even the skx due to the curvature of th...

One of the Scurfa models looks a lot like this at a glance. I think it’s the one that you and Bryce wear.

The SD LM has really nice case lines. I like that three piece bracelet much more than the fused link style. Looks heavy though.

Dragged this Armida out from cold storage couple weeks back with intent to sell, but think I'll keep it for now. I don't think the strap choice works, though. I like the OD canvas/brass combo, but the tapered width doesn't feel right.

Re: Recent trip to Maryland

Sounds like your family enjoyed the east coast. That’s a big change in some ways, but then again there’s still great places to ride and hike and eat so maybe not so different after all. There’s no shortage of great attractions in that region of the US.
