Re: WTF R U Roasting/Brewing coffee nerds

While I love coffee, I haven't gotten too nerdy about it since I'm mostly in it for the drug. The one that's converted me over to darker roasts though is a west coast chain, Philz Coffee. Their stuff gets me buzzin in the morning like no other.

Re: IWC Tribute to 3705

Well if they don't sell out and do ok on the secondhand market, you're probably right. It's a big fuckin deal.

Otherwise a thousand eventual owners of the piece will be happy with their purchase and we just called all of them not true collectors.

Re: IWC Tribute to 3705

The choice is easy, for anyone that doesn't like this or any other particular IWC piece, they usually always have other options... And if the other options are cheaper, even better. A couple of great ones in this thread too. I don't think they "screwed up" or failed horribly on this piece, if they m...

Nice, congrats!
Thanks! This piece really has me looking at watches again. Besides the bezel action, everything is so well executed.

Re: the exit watch

I have a feeling my exit watch will end up being something super lame or inexpensive or both, because the only way I'd stop completely is if I'm just over watches. I used to say rolex, but the prices went insane I'd always be tempted to sell. Maybe a GMT 16700 since I have it already. https://i.imgu...

Re: More ebay Shenanigans

In my experience when you get a "free" listing from eBay, it comes with strings. You wont get charged a listing fee, but eBay will have its way with your listing after the initial auction period ends, by which I mean, they will re-list without asking you (usually OK with me), then after 3 re-lists o...

Re: AP 15500?

I'd like to pick up an offshore one day. The one I want is way out of my reach but at least the prices for it on the grey/secondary seem normal when compared to the MSRP (it's actually lower!) might have to actually sell something from the collection too :( You’ve got a lot of hot items that have a...

Re: Weiss watch co experience

Cam serviced my watch awhile back but it was right around the time they had their baby so I told him to take his time and it was no rush. I work just a few miles away from his shop though, so drop off and pick up has always been easy and it's always nice to catch up and chat with him. From my other ...

Re: Anyone still use a desktop PC?

My pc I built late last year was the first time I've upgraded in about 8 years. I was sure I would fuck it up, but everything came back to me relatively quickly. Assembled everything and it booted up on the first try. Been enjoying Ray traced graphics on a 34 inch ultrawide monitor lately and I can'...

Anyone still use a desktop PC?

I had a fellow LA Watch Gang friend come over for a beer a few months back and he was amazed I still had and used a desktop PC. I've always enjoyed having a full powered desktop CPU based PC and a large screen to get all my work and gaming done at home. I don't get to game all that much these days b...

I haven't subscribed to cable since 2005 and in the last 15 years with things like streaming services, smart TVs, Youtube content getting better and more diverse, and piracy, I havent missed broadcast TV at all.
