Re: these are hideous, but i'm hard pressed to believe "counterfeit"

Another thought to add is it seems interesting to me how Rolex appears more focused on aggressively pursuing brand trademark infringement (these modified watches, those companies selling "jubilee" bracelets, etc.) than IP design infringement (for example those knock off Glidelock clasps). It sugges...

Re: Timeless in Texas

there's always Hoodwinkee now who's an official Omega AD... sure to be deals there  I think the days of ADs and their discounts are numbered. Online and boutique-only sales are the future. Have you noticed that many new watches from the big brands can only be purchased online at their e-comme...

Re: Hi Beat vs Spring Drive?

Basically, I have a hard time convincing myself, despite reading everything that’s out there, that Spring Drive is anything all that special. Part of what I like about mechanical watches is the level of precision required to tune a fully mechanical watch to be accurate for an extended period of tim...

Texting and driving...

I don’t know the particulars of this specific car, but apparently it is a rare version. Only 200 were made and very few left. The kid’s insurance is paying $50k, but my friend’s insurance is making up the difference to $235k total. He will be out of it, but I’m sure his insurance company will want ...

I don’t hate it like much of the internet, it seems. I will try it out at the typical Lange used discounts.

Those are so engaging and rewarding to drive - they have a steering wheel !” Yup, I fully expect that my kids will be one of the last generations that learns to drive a car. I doubt their kids will ever need to learn to drive. That being said, I'm shopping for a new car as my E90 M3 is getting long...

Modern Cars Do Nothing Leave Me Cold

There are different uses and joys to be had with both “modern” and “vintage” cars, and I have both. The vintages are more rewarding and engaging, the moderns are more comfortable and responsive. Different choices for different moods, and I wouldn’t change one for the other as I have all types of moo...

Big fan of the first generation xterra. Shame how Nissan in the USDM transformed from the most innovative Japanese automaker to fleet special within the last 15 years.
